2019.02.24 - Cutscene: The Force Awakening
With a sudden, gasping intake of air, Revan sat up. His body was stiff with the sleep of ages. Perfectly preserved, thanks to his connection to The Force, but very stiff. From across the room, the sound of a droid coming online alerted him to another presence. "Statement. You are awake Master. Good, the small rolling trashcan has performed basic maintenance. However, I am in need of more extensive system checks after so long a time." Revan's mouth was dry as he stretched in the darkened room. From somewhere distant he could hear the sounds of T3-M4 rolling across the metal deck. The Ebon Hawk gradually came fluttering and flickering to something approaching a half life. Revan sympathized with it.
With a groan he stood up. "HK, how long has it been? How long has The Force kept me?" "Statement. My internal systems have degraded. However, I can say with some accuracy it has been over four thousand, three hundred galactic years." Abruptly Revan sat back down, feeling as if the wind had left him. His voice sounded hollow. "So long, and now the Force calls me back. Why, after so long?" HK-47 understood well enough to not bother even attempting to form a reply.
Several days of repairs on droids, and the ship itself, later. Revan realized the Ebon Hawk needed more systems repaired than he had parts to repair it with. But The Force had provided in a rather unexpected manner. The Sith base from so millennia ago had been rebuilt and updated. Revan had scouted and found it was a small base. With not many personnel on site. Occupied by a force identifying as The Galactic Empire. The name gave him pause, and made him wonder if this had something to do with why The Force had called him back.
HK-47 and T3-M4 would guard the Hawk, and Revan would take what was needed from the base. His strength was returning with each passing hour. It would be more than sufficient for this task. But something was bothering him, an ever so slight disturbance. Korriban was as steeped in the Dark Side as it had been when he visited it thousands of years past. But there was a persistent sensation of the Light Side. Like a small drop of water occasionally falling into the roiling, thrashing chaos. But strong enough to still be felt by him. It made him question just what this small base was for.
Officer Candidate Nyeb Erollisi squirmed as Revan held him in the air with telekinesis. The lightest touch of life drain brushed past his consciousness and he slumped in the telekinetic grip. Unconscious, just like the other six white armored troopers. Revan felt renewed with the vital energy he had taken from them, and reached out with his mind to touch the unconscious... Stormtroopers' minds. Stormtroopers. The Empire. Special assignment on Korriban. A wealth of information washed over Revan like a malignant wave. He severed the connection and swallowed, the memories like acidic bile. There was something here, something secret. But it was what was out there that left him feeling sick. A galaxy once again embroiled in war. Would it never end? Grimly, Revan resolved that for this base at least. It had ended, today.
Less than an hour later, it was done. The base was empty save for Revan and the young man floating in a medically induced stasis before him. This was the disturbance he felt, up close so much more powerful. He was being kept drugged and unconscious, but Revan could still feel him. One of the most powerful connections he had ever sensed. His name came to him as he reached out and shut the apparatus off. Skywalker....
