Lael is the Crown Prince of Alderaan, its representative in the Galactic Senate, and secretly one of the leaders of the forces opposed to the Galactic Empire.

Personality

Lael is an intelligent, level-headed, kind, caring young man with a sharp wit, a strong sense of justice and a clear morality. He can also be rebellious, head-strong, impatient, emotionally insecure, and short-tempered - family traits, to be sure.

Background

Lael Organa was born Lael Skywalker, the son of Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker and Senator Padme Amidala of Naboo, two days after the first Empire Day at the Kallidah research base on an asteroid in the Polis Massa system. His twin brother, Luke Skywalker, would be separated from him and raised by their father's stepbrother , but Lael was adopted by Senator Bail Organa of Alderaan and his wife, Queen Behra, who never told him about his true ancestry.

Instead, they raised him to overcome it. Raised as the heir to the throne of Alderaan, Lael spent many hours learning the craft of leading - history, politics, etiquette, language, art, diplomacy - all these were drilled into him by his aunts, who assumed his education as soon as he could speak (which was before he was even a year old). While his quick mind picked these things up easily enough, Lael was a head-strong boy and chafed under this attention, often fleeing the palace with his friend Winter to escape into the city or the woods.

Bail tried to temper his young son's stubbornness by taking him with him on diplomatic missions, some of which were fronts for secret missions related to the Rebellion. It was here that young Lael learned to hate authoritarianism as it existed in the current form of the Empire, and developed a genuine empathy and kindness for those oppressed by it. He began to study in earnest, and by the time he was fourteen, he was a junior legislator in the Alderaan delegation.

His easy charm and fiery passion about issues got him noticed in the Senate, and at home. He worked tirelessly for the least in the galaxy within the Senate while secretly continuing to help his father and the Rebellion.

When he was in his late teens, his popularity as a legislator resulted in his being elected as the youngest Senator ever to serve. Bail proudly stepped down, eager to give his bright young son a chance to develop his leadership abilities as well as do more directly with the Rebellion.

So that's where we find our young hero. A newly-appointed Senator still learning his craft and trying to topple the machine from within. It's a dangerous game, but he's not scared.

SKILLS

Athletics - Competent Level

As a member of the royal family, Lael was expected to keep up a strict health and physical regimen. While he is not muscular, he has the reflexes, endurance, and strength of the average Olympic athlete.

Diplomacy - Competent Level

Lael received extensive training, both from his tutors and at his father's side, in matters of diplomacy and how to conduct oneself at court. Having a natural aptitude for it, Lael quickly mastered this skill, which resulted in his being the youngest Senator ever elected.

Languages - Competent Level

Lael has been taught a number of languages in his preparation for taking the throne and the Senate seat. He speaks and understands (minimally, at least) a fair number of the humanoid languages in the galaxy, and even non-human languages such as Wookiee.

Leadership - Novice Level

Pilot - Competent Level

Lael has been trained to pilot a number of starcraft, from freighters to starfighters. While his station often dictates others do the piloting, he is more than capable of assuming the helm should it prove necessary.

Riding - Competent Level

Lael was trained to ride on thranta and other beasts from a young age, and excelled at it. He has skill equivalent to that of a steeplechase rider.

Self-Defense - Competent Level

Lael was trained by a mercenary in unarmed combat. He is more than capable of defending himself against an opponent many times his size.

Sharpshooter - Competent Level

Lael received palace instruction from a hired mercenary in how to shoot a number of weapons, his favorite being the blaster. He's very good at it, easily making shots that are difficult for most others.

ABILITIES

Weapon: Blaster Pistol - Enhanced Level

Lael's weapon of choice is the Drearian Defense Conglomerate Defender sporting blaster pistol.

Force: Enhance Trait - Enhanced Level

The Force can enhance its user in many ways. Specialized uses of this talent include Force healing and Force speed, but in more general terms it can be used to enhance the user in various ways. These include improving a skill that relies on mental focus or manual dexterity, imparting increased physical toughness such as to reduce injury, sharpening senses, or increasing physical strength. In practice, this ability can stand in for any other personal attribute when invoked, though only one attribute can be enhanced at a time: strength, dexterity, toughness, perception, intelligence, etc. This is accomplished via a brief meditation, after which the effect generally lasts from a few minutes up to a few hours, depending on the ability of the user and the length of time spend preparing. It can also be used in brief bursts of up to a few seconds with no advance preparation. Lael is a fairly typical passive user of this ability. He most often uses this ability to sharpen his reflexes in tandem with sharpshooting, frequently subconsciously boosting his ability up to the Enhanced level for up to several minutes at a time.

Force: Farsight - Basic Level

This form of advanced clairvoyance allows the Force-user to see visions of other locations, even other times. This may include seeing a target in real time, witnessing the events happening to and around them, but it may also convey glimpses of the future, though these are seldom to be depended upon, as the future is always in motion, always changing. The more physical and emotional distance between the farseer and their target, the more difficult the feat becomes. Between two farseers, it's possible to achieve mental communication in this way, though usually such effects are limited. Lael has no practical experience with farsight, but he is sensitive to the Force, and as such he can still receive seemingly random, unpredictable visions or flashes of insight and knowledge without always realizing where they came from.

Force: Force Resistance - Basic Level

The Force can be a powerful means of defense, even against other Force powers. The ability to resist other Force powers is especially useful when resisting invasive powers, such as draining one's essence through the Force, or exposure to the corrupting influence of the Dark Side. Force Resistance also grants passive defenses against powers that induced fear, disorientation, loss of senses, paralysis, or otherwise directly affect a target through the Force. Generally, it does not protect against having one's thoughts read or influenced via mentalism, however, and it does not counter powers such as Force lightning or telekinesis. Lael uses this ability subconsciously, so it is not developed to the degree of those who have studied.

Force: Mentalism - Enhanced Level

Force-users of sufficient ability are able to perform a vast array of mind-to-mind effects, from reading the thoughts of another or probing their memories to actually influencing or controlling their thoughts, telepathic communication, or shielding their own minds or the minds of allies from such effects or influences. Force mentalism can also be used for healing purposes, such as easing the trauma of another or helping them recover suppressed memories. Lael, being untrained, uses this ability minimally and without conscious effort. It manifests itself in his natural charisma and ability to seemingly win the hearts and minds of those he encounters who are prone to his way of thinking. Something that -definitely- is a bonus in his various roles as royalty, a Senator, and leader of a rebellion.

ADVANTAGES

Reep

Lael's personal droid. Originally a 3NX unit, he was created by Cybot Galactica, and fitted with a TranLang III communication module like a 3PO protocol droid. He is fluent in over six million forms of communication and protocols. Not as stuffy as actual 3PO units, Reep tends to sarcasm when not in an official capacity, something Lael personally enjoys on occasion. In addition to his diplomatic programming, he retains his original security programming along with laser blasters in each arm, making him an effective and deadly bodyguard (when he's not complaining). His plating is blue with silver highlights. His optical sensors are green.

Royalty

Lael is the crown prince of Alderaan. As such, he enjoys a certain privilege that comes with his station, such as transports and top-level accommodations. His name can literally open doors.

Tantive Iv

A CR90 corvette star cruiser in the service of House Organa, and Lael's personal starship. It has a complete crew and generally carries at least one squadron of soldiers, either from Alderaan or the Resistance (though the Resistance fighters dress like Alderaan troops). As a vessel of state, the ship features dining rooms for hosting state dinners, as well as conference centers suitable for negotiations with interstellar dignitaries. Lael maintains a personal office on-board in addition to his personal suite.

Willpower

Lael was a headstrong child, and that stayed with him as he grew up, molding him into a strong, confident young man. He is determined and goal-focused, and almost nothing can deter him when he sets his mind to a task.

WEAKNESSES

Notoriety

Lael is the Heir to the throne of Alderaan, and a Senator in the Galactic Senate. As such, his face and name are recognizable far and wide across the galaxy, which can often be a hindrance when anonymity might be required.

Stubborn

The same willpower that serves Lael well as a leader and a Senator can also trip him up by causing him to be unflinchingly stubborn and headstrong, particularly when he believes he's in the right.
