As a young prince, Landgrave distinguished himself as a Paladin of Light, serving the Brilliant Cosmenia devoutly and earning himself the sobriquet "the just." Before the time came for him to serve politically, he acted as an honorary member of the Guild of Heroes, forming many friendships there and acting as a traditional knight-errant. Much of his present popularity stems from the fact that, in his youth, he so frequently gave his time and resources over to helping the people directly. Since becoming king, he has kept the kingdom peaceful and prosperous, so he remains very well-loved by the people.

Personality

Fair-dealing, kind, diplomatic, and patient. He is widely regarded as an ideal monarch.

Background

Having spent his youth as a knight-errant, serving his people, he came to the throne after his father abdicated and left behind the life of court, departing for Sylvania to live amongst his mother's people, the elves.

Character Connections

Quinn Brightheart

Quinn is Landgrave's elder son and presumed heir to the throne, but he shows little interest in power or ruling. Instead, he focuses on living a good life, charitable works, and otherwise pursuing a life of classical intellectual, athletic, and artistic pursuits. He is well loved by the people, though he seems to have no interest at all in politics.

Rann Brightheart

Rann, the king's younger son, strives in all things to be his father's son. Newly knighted, he always makes it a point to be seen wearing his armor, and he strives for a serious and regal persona. While those who know him would say that he has a good heart and means well, his tendency to try a bit too hard can make him seem imperious and arrogant to many.
