Background
Dick Grayson was the son of circus acrobats murdered by mobsters. Eager to bring these men to justice, he was stopped from doing this by Batman, who knew the boy was out of his league. Seeing his own tragedy mirrored in the boy's story, he took Dick on as his ward, and created Robin as his partner. As Robin, Dick was able to get closure on his parent's murder and stayed on as Batman's first partner.

Dick is Bruce Wayne's ward, so he enjoys a level of wealth that few can match but as he's underage he has to get permission to use it. He does get an allowance, though.
WEAKNESSES
As the ward of the world's richest man, Dick is in the spotlight sometimes himself. Revealing his ID would almost certainly lead people to conclude that Bruce Wayne is Batman.
