A witch of the deep, dark woods. Rax made his home amongst the trees and all their shadows they cast. In return for his devotion, the woods embraced him like a son and protected him in the dense shadow.
Background
For a long while, Rax lived undisturbed in the deep, dark woods. He had taken himself and left the places that human habitation calling itself "civilization" settled.
Then, as humans tend to do, they became determined that they were troubled by demons and their consorts. They looked for the witches, and they came into the trees, to free them from Rax and the devils they imagined frolicked with him on the silver nights of the full moon and the profound nights of the new.
The trees never let them leave.
Time never intruded too firmly into the woods. One day's venture out might show barely-standing huts, and another, a venerable society.
One day, Rax stepped out of the woods, for a while.
