Personality

At his core, Nicholas is a person who wants and tries to do the right thing. But, what /is/ the right thing? It depends on one's perspective and current circumstances. He's a sensitive young man who probably worries too much about what others think of him, wanting to be liked and accepted more than anything else. It might lead to Nicholas doing what he can to gain the approval of others, whether their intentions are good or bad.

However, there's another side to him: the wolf. It's not a side he fully understands yet but an urge here, an instinct there, and he's had to question whether he's more a person or an animal. The possible answer to that frightens him at times. Others? He might just welcome finding out.

Apart from that, he's not much different from typical teenagers. He's into sports and video games, he likes to read, he loves the outdoors and nature, and he's a generally good person who just wants to be part of something.

Background

Nicholas was born in Cleveland and lived in a typically quiet and respectable home with a caring mother and father. He was always small and when he reached puberty, things changed. Signs of the wolf, both mental and physical, manifested. His parents didn't really know about mutants and especially didn't know how to react, and there was screaming and shouting followed by a frightened boy hiding in his bedroom. Apologies soon followed, promises made to figure out what they could.

He missed school, and after a little too much attention came their way from nosy neighbors, they moved to a suburb with a little more land and privacy. After a year or so like this, some home-schooling, and a lot of discussion, a decision was made: they'd move to the Northeast and begin to look for a school or group Nicholas could get in with so he might receive more help and instruction than they could provide him. More than that, Nicholas wanted to find a 'pack' to join, some friends to make.
