Havrik had it all growing up, family, education, training, and prospects in the military. He threw it away when he started gambling to get fast cash to get a friend out of trouble. After escaping his debts (or so he thought), he started trading his engineering skills for passage across space. After one job, he was offered training at GEAS Academy and while he's not a member, he's now an affiliate for hire. He's taken several jobs since then, though any earnings tend to get gambled away as quickly. No one knows more about keeping a ship running than Havrik does, though his focus can waver when something new or shiny catches his eye.

Personality

Havrik is a hard working engineer who is talented and skilled. The problem is, he knows it and isn't afraid to let others know it. His arrogance can be a boon in the right situation, but he doesn't always know the difference. He is a team player but always wants his team to be performing at the top of their game. In private, Havrik has been known to open up after several drinks, and when drunk can be loud but fun loving.

Background

Section

Havrik grew up on a distant colony world, instilled with the confidence of his race. While his family expected him to follow in the planetary military like his father, Havrik instead took to a life of crime for a while. He was a courier for several cartels until a gambling debt gone bad forced him to flee. He always had a knack for machines and used this skill to gain transport on vessels across space, staying one step away from the gangs who were coming after him.

Section

After working for a few months on an official GEAS ship, his payment was in the form of entrance into GEAS academy. He was reluctant, but knew it would offer him the ability to stay under the radar. He did pretty well to his own surprise and that of his instructors. While not a member, he's a close affiliate of GEAS and is licensed as an engineer.
