Personality

Brash - Lightning Lad is headstrong, impetuous, and brave to the point that it often gets him in trouble as he runs headlong into danger with no thought of his own safety. Sacrifice - Lightning Lad has sacrificed himself for one of his teammates already, and would not hesitate to do so again. Loyal - Garth is loyal to the ideals and ideas of the Legion. Being a founding member, he holds its traditions sacred.

Background

Garth, his sister Ayla, and his older brother Mekt crashlanded on Korbal when their runabout's fuel cells were drained. Thinking to use the lightning beasts native to that world to refuel their ship, the trio were instead bombarded by lightning. Waking up, they discovered that they had fantastic lightning powers. Later on, Garth was one of three teens who helped to save RJ Brande, the richest man in the galaxy. He bankrolled an organization of teen heroes, and Garth became Lightning Lad.

LEGION Garth is a member of the Legion of Superheroes, and so has an immense amount of resources at his disposal; they also provide him a place to live, a stipend, and more. As a founding member, Garth has the high security clearances to many galactic law enforcement databanks and organizations.

HOT-HEADED Garth often rushes into situations without really thinking them through, or listening to advice, at least at first. This usually causes him troubles. He's also very stubborn when he thinks he's right, and has to be cajoled into accepting help or changing his plans.
