Christopher Kent is the adopted son of reporter Clark Kent, the orphaned son of one of Clark's cousins. In actuality, Lor-Zod is the son of the kryptonian general Dru-Zod, raised in the Phantom zone until he came to Earth somewhat recently. After taking some time to get used to life on earth, he was permitted, reluctantly, to put on a costume and take up his adopted father's other line of work, wearing the emblem of his new family as well. The press quickly came to call him Superkid, to Chris' embarrassment.

Personality

Chris is, generally, cheerful and outgoing, and always trying to be helpful. He hates having to hide his abilities, not because he wants to show off, but because he hates lying to his friends and, admittedly, has a bit of the Zod pride and doesn't like being laughed at for seeming clumsy. Chris idolizes his new father, though those who don't know that Clark Kent is Superman can see it more as the hero worship many kids his age have for Superman.

Background

Lor-Zod was born in the Phantom Zone. The first person, the only person really, to ever be born there, as most residents were nothing but incorporeal phantoms. There was one place, however, where everybody was solid. Fort Rozz. A prison, an entire building sent into the Phantom Zone when the residents rioted.

Lor's father, General Dru-Zod of Krypton, was a powerful leader and had been sent to the Phantom Zone with many of his followers, including Ursa, Lor's mother. General Zod and his followers quickly took control of the prison, and reigned over the Phantom Zone from there. It was there that Lor was conceived, and eventually raised.

It was a brutal childhood, full of training and harsh discipline, and Lor's only escape was to leave Fort Rozz. Unlike everybody else, he kept his body even outside of the prison. He could float through the Phantom Zone with just a thought, exploring at his will. He always had to return, however, as keeping his body meant he also had to eat eventually. He would always face harsh punishments for his absence.

Then, one day, General Zod brought him to a small Kryptonian ship he'd assembled. He placed Lor inside. Lor didn't really understand what happened next, but soon his little ship was falling towards a planet. He was saved by another Kryptonian, a member of the house of El, which his father hated so much.

There were others, military people, who tried to study him, but Kal-El saved him again, taking him from those people. Taking him home, in fact.

It's been sometime, since that day. Long enough for Lor to take on the identity of Christopher Kent, who became the adopted son of Kal-El's human identity, Clark Kent. Long enough for Chris, as he was now known, to start school and start to learn how to be human. Long enough to finally convince his new father he could follow in his footsteps, and become a hero.

Most importantly, however, Chris now has a home with a loving family. And he tries to forget his parents, and life in the Phantom Zone.
