Christopher Kent is the adopted son of reporter Clark Kent, the orphaned son of one of Clark's cousins. In actuality, Lor-Zod is the son of the kryptonian general Dru-Zod, raised in the Phantom zone until he came to Earth somewhat recently. After taking some time to get used to life on earth, he was permitted, reluctantly, to put on a costume and take up his adopted father's other line of work, wearing the emblem of his new family as well. The press quickly came to call him Superkid, to Chris' embarrassment.

Personality

Chris is, generally, cheerful and outgoing, and always trying to be helpful. He hates having to hide his abilities, not because he wants to show off, but because he hates lying to his friends and, admittedly, has a bit of the Zod pride and doesn't like being laughed at for seeming clumsy. Chris idolizes his new father, though those who don't know that Clark Kent is Superman can see it more as the hero worship many kids his age have for Superman.

Background

Lor-Zod was born in the Phantom Zone. The first person, the only person really, to ever be born there, as most residents were nothing but incorporeal phantoms. There was one place, however, where everybody was solid. Fort Rozz. A prison, an entire building sent into the Phantom Zone when the residents rioted.

Lor's father, General Dru-Zod of Krypton, was a powerful leader and had been sent to the Phantom Zone with many of his followers, including Ursa, Lor's mother. General Zod and his followers quickly took control of the prison, and reigned over the Phantom Zone from there. It was there that Lor was conceived, and eventually raised.

It was a brutal childhood, full of training and harsh discipline, and Lor's only escape was to leave Fort Rozz. Unlike everybody else, he kept his body even outside of the prison. He could float through the Phantom Zone with just a thought, exploring at his will. He always had to return, however, as keeping his body meant he also had to eat eventually. He would always face harsh punishments for his absence.

Then, one day, General Zod brought him to a small Kryptonian ship he'd assembled. He placed Lor inside. Lor didn't really understand what happened next, but soon his little ship was falling towards a planet. He was saved by another Kryptonian, a member of the house of El, which his father hated so much.

There were others, military people, who tried to study him, but Kal-El saved him again, taking him from those people. Taking him home, in fact.

It's been sometime, since that day. Long enough for Lor to take on the identity of Christopher Kent, who became the adopted son of Kal-El's human identity, Clark Kent. Long enough for Chris, as he was now known, to start school and start to learn how to be human. Long enough to finally convince his new father he could follow in his footsteps, and become a hero.

Most importantly, however, Chris now has a home with a loving family. And he tries to forget his parents, and life in the Phantom Zone.

SKILLS

COMBAT - Competent: Lor spent his first twelve or so years of life in the Phantom Zone. In that time, he was raised to be his father's successor, and learned the basics of the Kryptonian martial art of Horu-Kanu. He isn't very skilled, but he knows enough to help him in facing opponents stronger than him.

KRYPTONIAN HISTORY - Novice: Chris was taught a slightly skewed version of Kryptonian history by his father in their years in the phantom zone. He knows many of the major events, though lacks any real understanding.

TACTICS - Expert: Lor is the son of a tactical genius. Despite the fact he doesn't share his father's genius, his father was behind his entire education until Lor escaped, and battle tactics were a key part of that education. Even as young as he is, he likely knows more about battle tactics than many professional soldiers.

POWERS

BREATH - Enhanced: Lor's lungs are capable of compressing and holding much more air than a human. He is able to hold his breath for hours at a time, and on exhaling he can create powerful winds (capable of enough strength to, for example, severely slow heavy falling objects like cars) and freeze solid objects the size of a small car.

FLIGHT - Enhanced: Like most Kryptonians when powered by a yellow sun, Lor can fly at will. He can reach speeds of up to 10,000 mph, or even hover in place.

HEAT VISION - Enhanced: Lor can unleash his stored solar energy in the form of heat vision, and can control the amount of energy released to be as fine-tuned to light a match or cut like a scalpel, or a wider beam of up to 8 inches wide.

INVULNERABILITY - Enhanced: When his solar batteries are charged, Lor's skin becomes incredibly tough. He is essentially capable of resisting almost all conventional weapons without causing any damage to him. He is also able to withstand extreme cold and extreme heat up to 10,000 degrees Celsius. He also has incredible stamina, allowing him to work without rest for 72 hours.

PHANTOM ZONE - Basic: Lor-Zod was born in the Phantom Zone, and as such he is immune to the negative effects of the Zone. He stays physical and continues to age anywhere in the Zone, and because of his immunity he was able to age like a normal boy while he was in the Phantom Zone. This has also left him a natural flyer, as navigating The Phantom Zone was very similar to Kryptonian flight under a yellow sun.

REGENERATION - Enhanced: As long as he's taking in the energy of a yellow sun, Lor can heal at a vastly accelerated rate. Twenty times as fast as a normal human can heal, to be specific. This healing doesn't allow stunts like regrowing limbs. If he loses a limb, it'll heal into a stump like anybody else.

SENSES - Enhanced: All of Lor's senses are extremely heightened. He can see and hear as far away as 10 miles, or focus his vision down to a microscopic level. He has a sense of smell as strong as most dogs, and a sense of touch capable of sensing minute changes in air pressure caused by movement nearby. He can also tune his vision to other spectrums, allowing him to see through most materials except for lead.

SOLAR BATTERY - Enhanced: Lor is Kryptonian, and like all Kryptonians, his skin absorbs the energy of a yellow sun like a super-solar-panel. This solar radiation is converted to energy which powers all of his abilities. Prolonged absence from a yellow sun drains him of this power, leaving him the equal of a human.

SPEED - Enhanced: Lor is capable of moving at incredible speed, not only able to run up to 5,000 miles per hour, but also able to speed up his senses so he can perform tasks at 50 times the normal human speed. This also includes the ability to learn, as he's able to learn incredibly fast, including learning languages in less than an hour of study. (However, that is not to say that he has the attention span to do something like that very often.)

STRENGTH - Enhanced: Lor is a Kryptonian, and like others he gains enhanced strength when powered by the right type of solar radiation. He is capable of lifting and carrying around 25 tons if need be, along with the ability to break through things or hit with comparable levels of strength.

TELEKINESIS - Enhanced: Being raised in the Phantom Zone has given Lor a unique ability compared to most Kryptonians. This power is almost completely subconscious. If he lifts a heavy object by a fragile part, that object will be kept together by his telekinesis. If he's frightened enough, he may release blasts of anywhere up to 1 ton of force subconsciously in self-defence. He will likely eventually learn to control this ability, but for now it remains out of his control.

ADVANTAGES

ADOPTED FAMILY After he was launched from the Phantom Zone, Lor-Zod ended up in the protection of his father's enemy, Kal-El. Also known as Superman and, secretly, Clark Kent. To protect him, Clark arranged to officially adopt him, with some help. This gave him a loving home, a home where he could feel safe and, for the first time in his life, be the child he was. He now refers to Clark Kent as his father, and Jonathan and Martha as his grandparents.

WEAKNESSES

GENERAL ZOD Unknown to even Chris, General Zod escaped the Phantom Zone after he did. He will return, and want to take his son back.

KRYTONITE Though being born in the Phantom Zone has left him more resistant to the effects of kryptonite, he is nowhere near immune. While various versions of Kryptonite have different effects on him, the most common, green, can cause nausea immediately and can incapacitate him within 15 minutes of coming near it. Within ten minutes, he is as completely vulnerable as a normal human.

MAGIC AND PSYCHIC Magical and psychic attacks hit Lor-Zod just as they would hit a normal human. While secondary effects (like the fall damage if he's knocked out of the air) will be affected by his invulnerability, the direct damage of magical or psychic attacks hits him like it would a human.

RED SUN Radiation from a Red Sun drains him of his solar power reserves incredibly fast. If under the exposure of both red and yellow solar radiation, the red keeps him from absorbing the yellow and keeps him powerless. As he has never seen Krypton and was raised in the Phantom Zone, if he absorbs too much radiation from a red sun, this energy is eventually released from his skin in an explosive reaction.
