Aaron is one of those werewolves that is either blessed or cursed with old age. Having lived for easily over a century now he has seen the world change at a more and more frantic pace from his origins out in the frontier west of America. For a long time he played the game of politics and pack: protecting, guarding, fighting over territory. With the coming of the modern age it was easier for enemies to track down the pack. This is what happened to his pack someone or something killed, as far as he knows, all the other members as he was away at a meeting with another Alpha. After that he retreated from being around other werwolves looking for places where he could just be left alone. Every few decades having to reinvent himself and looking for another place to move too, something that is getting much harder as the world has grown more interconnected and digital.

Personality

Aaron is a mix of conflicting drives an emotions. An Alpha that doesn't want a pack even though he still has that need to help and protect. A Werwolf who wants to be alone when the drive is to be around others of his kind. Overall though Aaron currently wants to be left alone having moved again into a new place to keep others from realizing who and what he is. Of course nothing is ever that simple and it is likely that Aaron's mixed drives and emotions will pull him into having to deal with others.

Background

The last move?

Aaron is a wolf out of the age he was born into. Caught in the middle of the tech revolution occuring around us, and dealing with the past death of his pack almost a centrury ago - this old Alpha just wants to be left alone. Every few decades he ends up moving again shifting around his wealth and forging a new identity. This time it was much harder than before as so much of the world has become digital and interconnected. Still he was able to pull it off with bribes, dominance, some old favors, and magic. Now he's got a nice house in the middle of the forest, a dirt trail leading to him. Close enough to a town for supplies and the few times he wants to be around others.

SIGNATURE ABILITY

Old Werewolf

Aaron is an old werewolf and that itself is a blessing and curse. The blessing is his ability to change between human, wolf, and a wolfman form at will (though it hurts as his body phsyically has to change). In all 3 forms he still retains his intellegence. The curse though is the more animal nature rides him continually, and like others he is forced to change into a wolf form on the full moon though he keeps at least a semblance of his intellegence. Unlike others though he also has to be cautious about severe anger or utter disrespect as if pushed too far that will force him into a more anthromorphic wolf man form with the very little control.

ABILITIES

Power: Dominance - Enhanced Level

Werewolves of this type can intimidate those without exceptional willpower, especially normal humans and most animals, simply by making their eyes glow and growling or snarling towards them. They naturally give off a predatory aura, though this is enhanced and punctuated by any show of dominance, typically when they are agitated or nervous.

Power: Healing - Enhanced Level

The resiliency of this type of werewolf allows him to recover from nearly any wound, so long as it is not inflicted by silver. Minor wounds heal almost instantly, and even more severe wounds will heal within a few days at most. He does require food to sustain his healing.

Power: Pack Magic - Basic Level

When Aaron was Alpha of his pack decades earlier he became proficient in using the power of the pack to bolster and support the Pack. Such magic was focused around aiding pack members (granting strength, healing, and energy) or protection (their minds from invasion or domination). Without a pack, one day this power will fully vanish. He can still use it but it is not easily available or potent nor can he use it on himself. If Aaron does use it to help others he is likely going to be weakened severely for at least a week or so.

Power: Pain Transfer - Enhanced Level

Werewolves can alleviate the pain of someone else by transferring it onto themselves. This requires physical contact and significant focus, becoming more difficult depending on the severity of the pain.

Power: Physique - Enhanced Level

Werewolves of this variety are much tougher, stronger, and more agile than an average human, able even to twist and bend solid metal, smash through most structures short of armored or strongly-reinforced materials, and break through solid walls of cement or brick with moderate effort. They can resist substantial amounts of damage, especially blunt force trauma, and emerge either unscathed or with only minor injuries. Especially when "wolfed out," and specifically when running on all fours, they can easily outrun most mundane opponents. They also possesses superior agility, able to catch arrows in midair with moderate effort and, with a little luck, even dodge projectiles like bullets. This enables them to leap much higher and farther than an average human, as well as giving them the ability to bounce off walls and tumble like a skilled gymnast.

Power: Senses - Enhanced Level

The senses of this type of werewolf are enhanced far beyond the ability of any average human. They can hear things like a person's heartbeat and tell if they are nervous and possibly lying and clearly hear the murmur of a quiet conversation several rooms away. They can see over long distances and also possesses excellent night vision. Through scent, they can track a person, even if the trail is days old; they can also isolate specific individual scents in a larger group.

ADVANTAGES

Alpha

No matter whether Aaron wants to hide it or not, he is an Alpha by his very nature. He can normally tamp down that nature to keep other Alphas from seeing him as a threat to them and their packs.

Comfortable Wealth

Aaron has had a long time to collect and invest cash. While not rich he doesn't have to worry about basics such as food and housing.

Old Age

Aaron has been around a long time and has seen and done many things. Sometimes this can be helpful thanks to the knowledge, experience, or cunning he has acquired in his lifetime.

WEAKNESSES

Alpha

While Aaron dosen't want a pack, or to be involved in that anymore, he is still an Alpha by his very nature. It is hard for him to ignore other werewolves (and some humans he has gained a connection to) that have gotten into trouble and need help. Some other Alphas may view this and his very nature as a threat to them, their power, or their packs because they assume Aaron is planning on taking over the pack, which is of course nowhere near his goal.

Born to Another Age

Aaron was born on the frontier west in the 1800s. For a while he could keep up with technology, but as the pace has grown faster and faster he has been more and more a man (or wolf) out of his element. He can get along okay with some technology (he finally figured out flip phones), but advanced technology like the Internet or Smart phones are confusion to the old wolf.

Dead Pack

Others may know of Aaron due to his age, and the loss of his pack. This can be a hard reputation to deal with, but just as hard is the fact that his old age lets him continually have to know he is the last of his pack.

Lunar Cycle

Werewolves are closely tied to the phases of the moon. This affects them in various ways, such that they are at their strongest when the moon is full and their weakest during a lunar eclipse. The phase of the moon also strongly affects the werewolf's emotions, such that they can become almost overwhelming near the full moon. Werewolves often find a strong urge to shift during the full moon, as well as on the nights just before and after a full moon. Most werewolves eventually learn to control their shifts and to manage their emotions via various methods.

Lunar Eclipse

During a full lunar eclipse, werewolves of this type are generally powerless and essentially reduced to the status of ordinary, if healthy, humans. If the Bite cured them of any health conditions or injuries, these remain cured. Once the moon becomes visible again, their power is restored. During a partial eclipse they are somewhat weaker than normal, but they do retain their powers at a high-end Basic level.

Mountain Ash

Mountain ash, when activated, creates a barrier against most supernatural creatures. Werewolves cannot generally penetrate such a barrier, nor can they create one.

No Longer Human

Aaron is old enough that he knows he is not human and that is in his very nature. While he can socialize with humans, being around them for too long may begin to set their nerves on edge if they're uncomfortable with a werewolf in their midst. Due to this, he tends to be uncomfortable remaining in one location for too long. Relating more to werewolves than humans, Aaron also has a tendency to consider severe harm to a werewolf as something to be avoided if possible, but harm to a random unknown human as acceptable as a means towards a goal.

Old Age

Aaron has been around a long time and has seen and done many things. This can be a problem if things from his past catch up with him, old memories resurface, or someone younger and stronger is spoiling for a fight.

Silver Vulnerability

Silver hurts some werewolves, and for Aaron this weakness has only increased over time. Just touching it to his skin will burn him, and even through clothes with enough time it will burn him.

Wolfsbane

Wolfsbane is a poisonous plant that is especially dangerous to werewolves. When introduced into a werewolf's system, it slows the natural healing process and may force uncontrollable shifting and steadily-increasing weakness that may lead to death. Various methods, both medical and ritualistic, exist to cure this poisoning, but they all require specialized knowledge, power, or ingredients.
