The "Bat-Family" is an unofficial group of associated heroes who are, in many ways, very literally a family. Batman serves as the official the head of this family, a father or father figure to most on it, though in many ways Alfred is its true patriarch. Batman also serves as the team's leader and primary trainer, as most of them are or have been his partners at one time or another, trained to fight crime in Gotham. Even when a former Robin has flown the nest, though, they remain a family, offering each other support and aid whenever it's needed. The Batcave serves as their shared headquarters, and many of them live at Wayne Manor. Not only does this give them a solid base of operations, but it lets them benefit from the delights of Alfred cooking!
