{{Character |facs=

Altur

He is the younger prince of Altur.

|assoc= {{assoc|Landgrave Brightheart|Rann's father, [[Landgrave Brightheart|King LandgraveLandgrave Brightheart, is a former paladin and knight-errant who has served for many years as the beloved sovereign of Altur. He is a doting father who loves his sons, though he holds them to a high moral standard, especially because they occupy such a position of power and privilege. Even so, he is a loving and indulgent parent, and his sons want for nothing.}}

Quinn Brightheart

Quinn is Rann's older brother and the presumed heir to their father's throne. Much to Ran's frustration, his brother shows little interest in power or ruling. Quinn is well loved by the people, though he seems to have no interest at all in politics. While Ran loves his older brother dearly and looks up to him in many ways, he is easily frustrated by the way his brother seems to have everything that Ran, himself, wants--yet Quinn seems to care nothing for it at all. He's not even bothered to become a knight!

|fullname=Rann Brightheart |aka=Prince Rann the Adamant |position=Prince of Altur |age=Youth |species=Half-Elf |type=OC NPC |source=None |world=Arcadia |music= |quote= |quoteby=Himself |notes= Prince Rann is in many ways the opposite of his older brother, Quinn. While they look much alike and are only a few years apart in age, Rann is much shorter and more baby-faced than his brother, which tends to lead others to take him less seriously. Where Quinn is relaxed and friendly, making others feel comfortable and better about themselves, Rann strives in all things to be his father's son. Newly knighted, he always makes it a point to be seen wearing his armor, and he strives for a serious and regal persona. This can make him seem stiff of manner and pretentious of bearing, which does not always endear him to those around him. While those who know him would say that he has a good heart and means well, his tendency to try a bit too hard to live up to his royal title can make him seem imperious and arrogant to many. Much of this stems from insecurity and a need to prove himself, but unfortunately this is not always easy to tell, as he has a fierce sense of pride and does not like to allow himself to show weakness to anyone, even his father. Perhaps the only one who can truly reach him is his brother, but though Rann loves his brother very much, he does feel very jealous of Quinn much of the time. |pers=Determined, serious, focused, aloof, grand in manner, always striving to prove himself, deeply focused on the demands of knighthood and of rulership. |bg=Some remember the bright, cheerful soul that was Rann in younger childhood. However, growing up with stories of his father's pursuits as a knight-errant and lacking the natural charisma that made his older brother so loved by all, Rann instead became focused on proving himself as just as worthy and brave a knight as his father. }}
