SKILLS
ATHLETICS: Expert - Ventus is exceptionally athletic, able to leap, climb, dodge, tumble, and so forth with the very best of them.
BRAWLING: Novice - Ventus has been in a few scraps without a sword, but it's not his preferred method of fighting.
CHARISMA: Competent - Ventus is charismatic and charming, and he's very good at making friends and speaking sincerely to others.
LORE: Novice - Ventus is far from a lore master, but he has a pretty good basic understanding of everything from mystic phenomena and magical creatures to culture and mathematics.
PILOTING: Competent - Ventus grew up sailing rafts on the sea, and since then he's learned to drive cars, pilot spacecraft, and more. He can manage just about any kind of vehicle.
SPELLCASTING: Novice - Ventus has studied the basics and theory of magic, but since his abilities are more physical than spell-based, he's never actually worked at learning much of it.
STEALTH: Novice - Ventus is no kind of ninja, but he can sneak around all right even in some unusual locations, such as in the wilderness or a crumbling ruin.
SURVIVAL: Competent - Whether the wilds of Arcadia, the streets of Sangria, or the diverse locations of Superia and Futura, Ventus is good at knowing how to survive and stay safe in them.
WEAPONRY: Expert - Ventus is an expert swordsman, and he is particularly skilled at using the Keyblade.
ABILITIES
BLIZZARD MAGIC: Basic-level Magic - Ventus can cast basic ice-based magic, such as conjuring a blast of frost or freezing small objects.
FIRE MAGIC: Basic-level Magic - Ventus can cast basic fire-based magic, such as summoning or dousing flames or throwing a simple fireball.
THUNDER MAGIC: Basic-level Magic - Ventus can cast basic lightning-based magic, such as summoning a simple lightning bolt or channeling electricity through his touch.
TOUGHNESS: Enhanced-level Power - Ventus is considerably tougher than a typical human. If he does take enough hits to be hurt, he can recover from significant damage if given time to rest, coming back from even seemingly fatal wounds after a night's sleep.
CYCLONE: Enhanced-level Power - Active attack Style. While channeling this ability, Ventus is surrounded by a powerful cyclone, allowing his attacks to deal Enhanced-level wind-based area effect damage against enemies within a ten foot radius. Ventus can only use one active attack style at a time.
MULTIVORTEX: Basic-level Power - Ventus whips up a shockwave of wind that will strike all enemies in a cone in front of him, up to fifty feet away. It does only Basic-level damage, but it can cause a stun effect and forces enemies back as though they were being repeatedly struck with Enhanced-level impacts. (This does not cause additional damage, but it does cause significant knockback in most cases.)
PULSE BOMB: Enhanced-level Power - Ventus launches a series of kinetic explosions at his enemies within immediate line of sight. This can strike a single enemy for Enhanced-level damage, or it can strike multiple enemies, dealing Basic-level damage to each one.
SPEED RAVE: Enhanced-level Power - Active attack Style. While channeling this ability, Ventus is able to move, react, and attack with Enhanced-level agility. Ventus can only use one active attack style at a time.
WILLPOWER: Enhanced-level Power - Ventus has a strong heart, as they say. Even when all else is stripped away, he has exceptional mental and spiritual fortitude. This enables him to better resist compulsion, intimidation, or anything else that would compromise his free will, though it does not grant him special defenses against damaging mind-based attacks or prevent others from, say, reading his thoughts.
WINGBLADE: Supreme-level Power - Active attack Style. While channeling this ability, Ventus banishes his keyblade and surrounds himself with six glowing swords of mystic light. While this style active, Ventus' attacks still deal Enhanced-level damage, represented by his Keyblade ability, but he is able to strike multiple enemies at once without difficulty, each sword operating independently at close quarters. This style culminates in a finishing maneuver, dealing one attack at Supreme level, but doing so ends his use of the style, and he cannot use Wingblade again until after he has rested, making it effectively only usable once per battle. Ventus can only use one active attack style at a time.
KEYGLIDER: Supreme-level Tech - Ventus is able to transform his keyblade into a glider, able to travel at up to hypersonic speeds within an atmosphere. It also allows him, via magic, to fly through space or even travel to other Worlds. At slower speeds, he can even use it to aid him in combat, rapidly moving around the battlefield to draw fire or create confusion. (For combat purposes, he uses his Keyblade trait and its power level. This power entry reflects the glider's use as a travel power.)
KEYBLADE: Enhanced-level Weapon - This blade, the Wayward Wind, allows Ventus to open doors to other worlds and travel through them. It does more or less resemble a large key, only its "teeth" are razor sharp, and it is made of powerful magic and cannot be broken. It can be collapsed down into a pendant that resembles a tiny golden crown, easily tucked into a pocket or hung from a belt, and Ventus can summon it at will. It can also be dismissed and recalled, even thrown like a boomerang and pulled back, and cannot be taken from its owner under most normal circumstances. The Keyblade can change in appearance and weapon style by crafting or finding sentimental or magically charged items to use as a keychain. Under normal circumstances, it does Enhanced damage to creatures of darkness, while it does only Basic damage against light-aligned beings. It can also transform into a glider, allowing him to rapidly move around the battlefield to draw fire or create confusion, as detailed separately.
ADVANTAGES
CASTLE OF DELIGHTS - The Keyblade Masters operate out of a place Between Worlds known as the Castle of Delights. They do not control the castle, but it recognizes them as allies and allows them to dwell there in safety and use it as a base of operations in their fight against the Darkness. The castle is a virtually impregnable magical fortress whose power shields its occupants and sustains them. Attacking it is quite a fool's errand, but those who occupy the castle must in return offer hospitality and the delights of the castle to anyone who is able to find it and comes in peace. As such, when they aren't busy fighting the Darkness or aiding other worlds, the Keyblade Masters sometimes find themselves serving as unofficial guides, hosts, or caretakers at the castle, as needed.
GEAR - There are a variety of simple, commonplace supplies any smart adventurer keeps on hand. Ventus has good quality clothing, a few camping supplies, rations, a supply of healing potions, and other simple things that get him through the day. He also carries a few personal effects with primarily sentimental value.
HEART-LINK - Ventus's heart--in a mystical sense, meaning his essence or, even, his soul--is linked to Sora's. As a result, Ventus is aware of Sora's status, including whether he's in danger or hurt and his emotional state. He can unerringly find Sora, and this connection effectively cannot be dampened or broken.
KEYBLADE MASTER - As one of the Keyblade Masters, Ventus is able to access their various resources. These include access to the Castle of Delights, which they operate out of, the Keyblade itself, and their form-changing aerospace craft, the Kingdom. Naturally, it also includes whatever other members of the Keyblade Masters are also active at the time.
RESOURCES - While he is certainly not rich, Ventus has a small store of coin saved up from the last couple of years. He is usually able to support his fairly meager needs with whatever jobs he can find, and even add a little to this stash at times.
THE KINGDOM - The Keyblade Masters have an aerospace ship of magical nature called The Kingdom. Classified as a General Utility Mobile Modular Interface ship, it can be an airship, a jet, a starship--whatever it needs to be, depending on what world it travels to. It has Enhanced-level armor and weaponry, able to stand up reasonably well in a fight, but its main purpose is to facilitate travel between Worlds with greater speed and safety than mere wandering might allow. The ship is small and not really designed for long-term occupation, but it has sufficient accommodations to make long journeys tolerable.
WEAKNESSES
ENEMIES - Ventus has made a few enemies since becoming a Keyblade Master. Among these enemies are the shadowy Organization XIII and the fallen Keyblade Master, Xehanort, who founded it. The greatest enemy, of course, is the Darkness, itself, an otherworldly force that seeks to consume everything light and living in all the worlds. On a small scale, it can claim a person's heart, transforming them into a heartless shade-minion, but on the grand scale, it can consume entire worlds, and this is what the Keyblade Masters must always fight to oppose. They are not alone in this fight, of course, as the Darkness takes many forms and is opposed by many heroes, but they are staunchly dedicated to their cause.
HEART-LINK - Ventus's heart--in a mystical sense, meaning his essence or, even, his soul--was damaged in battle with Xehanort. He was left comatose until Sora came to his aid, resulting in a link being forged between them. Ventus was saved, but now he's linked to Sora. While he does not directly feel Sora's pain or such, he is aware of it, and if Sora were to be seriously harmed, it could harm Ventus, as well.
LOYAL - Ventus is loyal to a fault, and he will do literally anything, even sacrifice his own life, to protect others.
