Created as a clone of Bart Allen in order to continue their family rivalry, like his erstwhile brother Thad is both a Allen AND a Thawne. He is considered by some to be a supervillain, and indeed, he can be decidedly wicked sometimes when the mood takes him, even to the point of superheroes needing to intervene. He has a... curious relationship with his clone-brother, sometimes openly bedeviling him, sometimes seeming to draw strength and sense-of-self from his presence. Thad may not be one hundred percent sane...

Personality

Thaddeus Thawne was created to replace Bart Allen, and he is capable of impersonating him so perfectly that even Bart's family and friends are unable to effectively tell the difference. This was actually incredibly psychologically harmful to him, as there is a large part of him that envies Bart and covets his life and his strong relationships. That said, in many ways the two are very different. Where Bart is the embodiment of "twitch gamer", Thad is the "obsessive completionist", with an intense, creepy focus and a no-stone unturned attitude. He is neat, meticulous, and compulsive.

Background

Created in the 31st century by the Thawne family, Thaddeus Thawne was created to replace Bart Allen, as part of a plan to destroy the Allen family from within. The plan failed, Thad was discharged as a failure, and he struck out on his own despite the entreaty from his clone-brother to join him. He is now unsure of who he is--hero, villain, or something else entirely.

SKILLS

ATHLETICS - Expert: An athletic youth, Inertia has the physical ability of a trained all-round athlete, and he considers himself able to hold his own at any athletic endeavor, but especially running, where he has tirelessly perfected his form.

FIGHTING - Novice: Inertia has received self-defense training, though in a fight he tends to rely on his powers to simply make him the fastest person in the room. He can black an eye with the best of them, avoid a punch, or take a fall.

TECHNOLOGY - Expert: Inertia has experience with futuristic technology, and is a whiz with computers, vehicles, and other, more esoteric devices. He once had access to a techno-organic supercomputer named 'CRAYDL', but seems to have gotten rid of it.

VIDEO GAMES - Expert: Though he approaches video games with a relentless perfectionist drive, unlike his brother's twitch-gaming crack-skills, Thad is an excellent gamer, and he masters video games with a relentless, almost villainous drive.

POWERS

AIR MANIPULATION - Enhanced: As a side-power to his super-speed, Inertia is able to manipulate air currents by rapid motions. He can create tornadoes, create powerful gusts of wind by manipulating his arms, and while he has no power over the wind these blasts of air create, he has the ability to exert a degree of control by modulating his speed and movements, and he can use these blasts to move or manipulate objects of tremendous size.

METABOLISM - Enhanced: Those touched by the Speed have the ability to rapidly metabolize diseases, toxins, and other foreign substances with a high degree of rapidity, processing poisons, illnesses and toxins before they have the chance to damage the body; the drawback being that while Inertia prefers to savor his meals... he is ALWAYS hungry.

PHASING - Enhanced: As part of his super-speed powerset, Inertia can vibrate his entire body or any part of it, transitioning from a matter to an energy state and thus enabling him to "phase" through solid objects or people. His ability to do this depends on the density of the mattr he's phasing through, and it requires concentration to maintain the phased state. He can also use this phased state to disintegrate matter, simply shaking it apart until its individual molecules disperse.

REGENERATION - Enhanced: As a net benefit of his enhanced metabolism, Inertia has high-level regenerative abilities. While he would not regenerate a lost limb, wounds and other damage heals in seconds. Unfortunately as a secondary side-effect, he also metabolizes anasthetic quickly and serious medical treatment can be touch and go, as he regenerates incisions or surgical adjustments even while they're being made.

SUPER SPEED - Supreme: Like Impulse from who he was cloned, Inertia is touched by the speed. As he moves he transitions from a being of physical matter to a being of pure energy, defying the laws of material physics and approaching the time/space barrier. He is capable of circumnavigating the globe in under a minute, and while moving, the transitional state of his body makes him resistant to harm.

ADVANTAGES

WEAKNESSES

BLOOD-FEUD Thad is a continuation of the war between the Thawnes and the Allens, and like his Clone-Brother, he's something of both. In fact, he arguably looks even more like Barry Allen than Bart does, because of the color of his hair! Thad has... an ambivalent attitude toward the feud--he is a Thawne, of course. But he has absolutely no intention of being anyone's pawn, and he'll continue the feud--or not--on his own terms.

IMPULSE Ah, this is complicated. Thad was created to replace his clone-brother Bart, and his sense of identity is all kinds of messed-up. He hates Bart Allen, he loves Bart Allen, he wants to BE Bart Allen, he wants to never be compared to Bart Allen... it's screwy. And it can screw with Thad's head, too. His thoughts on it change from day to day, but he's drawn to Bart Allen, no matter what mood he's in.
