A Jedi Knight from the era of the Old Republic, he followed the path of the Guardian, and served the Republic and the Jedi with honor and pride, however the Cathar has found himself displaced in time. Unsure of what has left him in the here and now, he none the less has begun working to re-establish contact with the Jedi and figure out how he can best make his place in the new world.
Personality
A dedicated and trustworthy Jedi Knight, Te'rek Kasai serves with honor and integrity at the will of the Council and the Republic. He will choose to do what's right over what's easy, and will put himself in harm's way without a second thought at a moment's notice. As a Jedi Guardian, his primary goal is to safeguard the Republic and serve as a peacekeeper and defender of justice.
Background
Te'rek Kasai was born on the planet of Cathar, and from a young age showed a very strong affinity for the Force. Picked out by a Jedi who was visiting the planet, he was let go by his parents and taken to the Jedi temple on Coruscant. While still a Padawan, he managed to survive the Sacking of Coruscant but his master was killed, and he was sent to another temple to continue his training. Eventually he was sent to Tython to finish his training under master Orgus Din.
After helping to save the temple from a rogue Jedi, Te'rek was raised to the rank of Knight and sent off to help the Republic in the budding war against the Sith Empire. He served with honor, helping to track down stolen super weapons and fight against the empire. However at some point after several years of serving the Jedi, he was taking his ship into hyperspace but when he came out of hyperspace, found himself in a galaxy he had never seen before. He was unsure of where he had wound up, and is now seeking answers.
SKILLS
Having spent nearly his entire life training to be a Jedi, Te'rek is at the top of his game physically, able to perform feats that outmatch the average galactic denizen even without the Force.
Diplomacy - Competent Level
|
Jedi are protectors of peace, and often times Te'rek finds himself needing to negotiate, rather than go in lightsaber first. He's a warrior, and he sees himself as such, but even the best warriors know when words rather than actions are needed.
Knowledge - Competent Level
|
Te'rek has spent a lot of time in training and has learned many things, including the inner workings of the Senate, multiple languages, and including Basic, Binary, Cathar, Ryl and Shyriiwook to name a few. He has spent time on many different planets and learned what he can about their cultures and the best ways to act there.
Lightsaber - Expert Level
|
Training for years with a lightsaber, it's the core Jedi weapon and the one that Te'rek has the most experience with.
Piloting - Competent Level
|
He's not the best pilot ever, but Te'rek considers himself to be pretty good. He has experience with flying ships ranging from small single-man fighters up to his signature ship the Defender-class Light Corvette.
Along with the training he has undergone in with the Jedi over the years, he has learned survival skills in all manner of environments, from deserts to jungles to snow biomes. He also carries survival equipment in his kit as well.
Unarmed Combat - Competent Level
|
Trained in unarmed combat in the event that he is unable to use his lightsaber, he is quite skilled in close quarters without his weapon, and is also able to employ his Cathar claws if needed.
Te'rek is a Guardian, who's purpose is to put themselves in harm's way for their fellow Jedi and other allies. He has the willpower to keep on pushing, regardless of what is thrown his way, and is always willing to put himself out there to save others.
ABILITIES
Force Power: Enhance Trait - Enhanced Level
|
The Force can enhance its user in many ways. Specialized uses of this talent include Force healing and Force speed, but in more general terms it can be used to enhance the user in various ways. These include improving a skill that relies on mental focus or manual dexterity, imparting increased physical toughness such as to reduce injury, sharpening senses, or increasing physical strength. In practice, this ability can stand in for any other personal attribute when invoked, though only one attribute can be enhanced at a time: strength, dexterity, toughness, perception, intelligence, etc. This is accomplished via a brief meditation, after which the effect generally lasts from a few minutes up to a few hours, depending on the ability of the user and the length of time spend preparing. It can also be used in brief bursts of up to a few seconds with no advance preparation.
The Force can enhance those who use it far beyond any normal capabilities. It allows them to increase their focus, reduce pain, or be granted greater physical prowess. Jedi use it to direct their lightsabers to deflect blaster shots, as it allows brief glimpses into the future even with passive use. Te'rek has trained with the Force for most of his life, and is one of the more powerful users that the Jedi council has seen in his era.
Force Power: Force Healing - Enhanced Level
|
By combining microtelekinesis and the ability to enhance the body in specific ways, Force-users are able to provide various healing effects for themselves or others. This includes repairing injuries, detoxifying poisons, combating illness, or even placing oneself or another in a stasis trance, allowing them to stabilize from injuries and exist with limited food, water, or oxygen or in other physically strenuous conditions for extended periods. This ability generally requires close proximity or contact with the intended target if it is being used on another. Such healing generally a gradual process, taking place over hours or days, though particularly gifted healers may be able to achieve much faster results.
Using a meditative state, Te'rek can heal himself of all but the most major of wounds. This requires a massive amount of focus and cannot be done while under extreme stress or in combat, however.
Force Power: Force Resistance - Enhanced Level
|
The Force can be a powerful means of defense, even against other Force powers. The ability to resist other Force powers is especially useful when resisting invasive powers, such as draining one's essence through the Force, or exposure to the corrupting influence of the Dark Side. Force Resistance also grants passive defenses against powers that induced fear, disorientation, loss of senses, paralysis, or otherwise directly affect a target through the Force. Generally, it does not protect against having one's thoughts read or influenced via mentalism, however, and it does not counter powers such as Force lightning or telekinesis.
All Jedi are trained in how to resist the Force in the same way they are able to harness it. Te'rek is resistant to having it used against him, able to fight back against potential threats posed by other Force users, such as the Sith or a rogue Jedi.
Tech: Lightsaber - Enhanced Level
|
An elegant weapon for a more civilized age, the lightsaber, sometimes referred to erroneously as a laser sword, is a legendary weapon favored by many Force-users, especially Jedi and Sith. Lightsabers consist of a plasma blade, powered by a kyber crystal, emitted from a hilt, usually made of metal. The blade can be toggled on or off, allowing the weapon to close down to just the hilt. A weapon as dangerous to the wielder as to their opponents if used carelessly, a lightsaber requires rigorous skill and training. The weapon becomes much more effective when used in conjunction with the Force.
Te'rek's lightsaber was built by his own hands, put together through painstaking work after seeking out a special crystal on the planet of Ilum. It's custom fit for him, with an orange blade and is wielded primarily with a two handed strong style, though he can use it just as easily with one hand.
Force Power: Mentalism - Enhanced Level
|
Force-users of sufficient ability are able to perform a vast array of mind-to-mind effects, from reading the thoughts of another or probing their memories to actually influencing or controlling their thoughts, telepathic communication, or shielding their own minds or the minds of allies from such effects or influences. Force mentalism can also be used for healing purposes, such as easing the trauma of another or helping them recover suppressed memories.
The Force can be used to trick the minds of the weak willed, making them do things that a Jedi wants them to do, or even to act against their nature if the Jedi is powerful enough. Te'rek is able to use this 'mind trick' in order to avoid conflicts, though he prefers not to use it on the innocent.
Force Power: Telekinesis - Enhanced Level
|
Telekinesis is the well-known ability to manipulate physical reality, especially physical or kinetic energy. It is commonly used to push or pull targets, to levitate creatures or objects, to deflect attacks, to apply crushing force to a target, to throw objects at a target, and even to allow the user to leap exceptional distances without harm, to simply name some of the most common applications.
One of Te'rek's signature moves as a Guardian is using the Force to either draw foes towards him or push foes away from him. He also will often throw his lightsaber and return it to himself with the Force. He is able to reach out and grab objects from a distance and move them, and with enough focus can move larger objects, or even those that have been deemed unmovable by those with less focus and willpower.
ADVANTAGES
Defender-Class Light Corvette
|
The Defender-class Light Corvette is the personal ship of Te'rek, it possesses hyperspace capable drive, and multiple weapons systems to be able to used for defense or offense. He has a lot of experience with flying it and navigation using the ship.
The droid partner of Te'rek and the only one of his companions who came through to this strange new world with him, the astromech is one of Te'rek's key partners in accomplishing his goals. Able to slice computers, and provided either ranged fire support or healing to his Jedi companion, the droid is quite capable of defending himself if needed, and has over two hundred years of knowledge as he has never had his memory wiped.
WEAKNESSES
Te'rek was raised by the Jedi from an extremely young age. He does not retain the kind of connection to his homeworld that many other Cathar do, and often struggles to properly associate with other non-Jedi, as they were the only family he knew growing up. Forced out into the world at large now, he is trying to find the best way to make contact with anyone who may know or remember him.
Te'rek is from a point in time roughly three thousand years prior to the current goings on in the galaxy. He is unsure of how he wound up here, and more importantly, everything and everyone he knew from his time is gone. He's having to do his best to adjust to his newfound situation while trying to re-establish connections.
