Background
Kurt Wagner is descended of an ancient strain of mutant humans known as the Neyaphem who were long ago banished to the timeless Brimstone Dimension by another lineage of mutants known as Cheyarafim. This is the cause for his demonic blue appearance, which caused Kurt much strife early in life. Before the world had come to accept people such as he was, Kurt lived in captivity as a monster to be feared and loathed, the only time he felt any amount of adoration was during his time at the circus where men, women, and children of all ages would cheer him on as flew expertly through the air and performed inhuman feats for their adoration. This ended suddenly though, and he was chased with torch and pitchfork into hiding.
Professor Charles Xavier came to him with an opportunity that he could not turn down. He had been recruited as a part of a rescue team and was quickly faced with the terror that man and mutant, both, could provide and has made it his purpose in life to make everyone feel as accepted and comfortable in their own skin as the X-Men have helped him become. This has been a difficult struggle and where many others have become jaded and disillusioned or simply exhausted, Kurt has remained an unwaveringly cheerful fixture at the front of the mutant cause.
