Alex, I hate to break it to you! You don't float 'cause of Gee Power! You're just full of hot air! |

Power Pack attack! It's been a while since anyone's heard that battle cry, but, following the example of his
older brother, Jack Power is also back in action. Jack spends his days as a reluctant but reasonably successful student at Sky High and his nights fighting alongside his brother as active members of the (more or less re-formed) Power Pack. He may be a bit less squeaky clean than Alex, but Jack's "mock evil to death" game is quite strong.
Personality
Jack is high-spirited and young, and tends to leap before he looks, which causes plenty of trouble. Brash and stubborn, he just may be a bit of a slow learner. Jack can also be a bit of a prankster. He loves to play tricks, usually the kind that make their target look silly and are designed to make everyone laugh. He can take things seriously, but that doesn't mean he won't have his fun along the way. He can scarcely resist a good prank when the fancy strikes him and will occasionally go to great lengths to cause his own particular brand of mischief. When more serious, he can be surprisingly tender toward those he cares about, such as looking after them when they're ill or injured, though if this is pointed out he tends to get very snarky about it. On the other hand, he can also be very aggressive, especially when he feels that someone is pushing him or his loved ones around, and it's not at all unheard of for him to pop off with a smart remark or, if pushed a bit harder, to throw punches (and, as needed, super powers) at the target of his ire.
Background
Jack is the second-born son of Margaret and James Power, and he had a pretty happy and safe home life as a small child. The worst he had to deal with was the usual thing, sibling squabbles and the like, until their physicist father was contracted by the government to experiment with energy production using matter and anti-matter. A Kymellian named Aelfyre Whitemane learned of Dr. Power's experiments and sought to stop them, fearing that the device Power had constructed would destroy the Earth and, possibly, more beyond. He wasn't the only one, as a race of aliens called the Z'Narx also discovered the device and planned to steal it for their own purposes. The Z'Narx (nicknamed the "Snarks" by the Pack) kidnapped Dr. and Mrs. Power to try to learn the secrets of the device. Whitemane saved the children, but he was mortally wounded in the process. As he died, he gave each of the Power children one of his own superhuman alien abilities and instructed them to use these powers to save the world.
Jack received the power of manipulating his own density, and so he chose the moniker of Mass Master. (And, oh lord, the teasing that led to--but he stubbornly stuck with the name he'd chosen.) The siblings took to calling themselves the Power Pack, and together they defeated the Snarks, saved their parents, and destroyed the dangerous device that had threatened the Earth. In the years after, the Power Pack had many adventures, aided by Whitemane's Kymellian smartship, Friday. They each went their own ways for a while, but Jack has since returned to join his brother, Alex, in a re-formed version of the Power Pack, now that they are older and perhaps wiser than before.
SKILLS
ATHLETICS - Expert: Jack is in excellent shape and a top athlete, having been on just about every school team at one time or another.
COMBAT - Competent: While Jack has only little formal training, mostly thanks to participation in school clubs, he has plenty of practical experience as a scrapper, both unarmed and when using his powers.
EDUCATION - Novice: Jack is a reasonably capable high school student, but he has yet to really apply himself too seriously in terms of his education.
PRANKS - Expert: Jack is a lifelong prankster, and he's become quite adept at figuring out ways to annoy and irritate everyone around him. He insists that it's a charm point.
TECHNOLOGY - Competent: Experienced from a young age with unusual technology, Jack is very good at figuring out how technological things work and making use of them, even when they're quite alien.
WILLPOWER - Competent: Stubborn and determined, Jack never seems to give up.
POWERS
DENSITY CONTROL - Supreme: Jack has fine control over the density of the molecules in his body. He can control them in many ways, from dispersing them into a cloud-like form to compacting himself into a tiny, super-dense and very durable 8" form. He is able to hold different parts of his body at different density levels, allowing him to achieve a variety of very creative effects. Notably, his powers also affect things immediately touching him to a limited degree, such as his clothing and small objects that he carries.
FORCEFIELDS - Enhanced: By apparently manipulating his own biokinetic aura, Jack is able to project shields and forcefields around himself and up to a small nearby radius, limited to a few yards in radius but of above average strength. This is a power that he is still developing.
HEALING - Enhanced: Due to his fine biokinetic control over his body, Jack's tissues are highly regenerative and strong. The full scope of what this means has yet to manifest itself, but he bounces back from injuries with exceptional speed and thoroughness. This is, in some sense, an ability that all of Power Pack's members have. They are able to heal themselves by transferring life force, usually on a subconscious level. It works much better when the four are united, but Jack is also able to access this power on his own. He heals at a highly increased rate and has a high immunity to most human diseases. He is also able to transfer this to other people by sharing his life force to the person receiving the healing.
ADVANTAGES
CONTACTS During his time in the Power Pack, Jack established connections to many different superheroes, most notably the Fantastic Four. Obviously, he can also count on his siblings most of the time, too.
KYMELLIAN COSTUME Made with Kymellian unstable molecule technology, this costume is very durable. With a simple command, it appears from and disappears into an extradimensional space, altering itself for specific necessities such as space travel or underwater adventures. It also contains a built-in communicator and translator device and an extradimensional pocket with a capacity of about twelve cubic feet, provided what can be stored can pass through the opening, which is about a square foot in size.
SMARTSHIP FRIDAY Friday is a starship with a central computer system so advanced that it is effectively sentient, its personality very human-like. Friday acts as a well-meaning mentor and advisor to the Power Pack. He has a limited ability to change shape, which is mostly done to provide for needs and comfort. Friday is also able to travel through different environments, including underwater.
TRUST FUND Like his older brother, Jack has a trust fund that was provided by his parents. This is not enough to make him wealthy, but it will support him comfortably for most of his life if he spends it wisely. This comes with the caveat that he must remain in school and attend college in order to retain access to the funds.
WEAKNESSES
ENEMIES As a member of Power Pack, Jack shares all the enemies that he and his siblings made in the past. This includes everything from mundane human bullies from Jack's middle school days to members of an alien race known as the Z'Narx.
PACK BOND The Power Pack is a family in every sense of the word, and the siblings have been through a lot together in just a few years. They got their powers together, trained and fought together, and have even sometimes swapped powers wth one another. This means that they will go to great lengths for one another, which can be exploited, but their powers are also actually somewhat weaker when they're not together.
REPUTATION Because of the fame Power Pack attained in Jack's younger years, he's often associated with them to this day. This has its advantages, but it's also a little bit like if he'd been a child actor. He tends to be seen as the bratty younger brother from the Power Pack, and he still tends to be treated like a kid and taken less seriously than others. Jack likes to act as though he's come along way and really matured since the original days of the Power Pack, and in many ways he has, but in truth he can still be stubborn, rash, and (as his brother Alex could certainly tell you) despite being years older, he's still kind of a brat most of the time. This makes it very difficult for him to overcome his past reputation.
