Dirk Morgna is Sun Boy, well-known and prominent member of the Legion of Super-Heroes. He is one of the most comfortable of the group with the celebrity that the Legion has attained, but while he plays the part of the handsome man about town, he has surprisingly deep and multifaceted interests such as linguistic studies and role-playing games.
Personality
Most people will notice Dirk's engaging personality and flirtatious manner immediately; he's always on the make, it seems, but he more often manages to present charm even so. He's the life of the party and often seen as a bit of a lothario, but an ultimately innocent one. He knows what people like, and he's ready to give it to them.
Deep down, however, Dirk struggles with insecurities from his upbringing and ultimately a desire to be more than the persona he developed. He does enjoy his pursuits, and he isn't being dishonest in seeking pleasure, but at the same time...he has far broader interests than that, which he feels he can only reveal around very close friends.
Being intimate with Dirk is more than just a question of sexual relations; he has to trust, and that comes only with deeper understanding.
Background
Dirk Morgna grew up under constant attempts at manipulation and control by his father, Derek Morgna. When Dirk was helping at a research plant of his father's, a disgruntled researcher named Dr. Regulus attempted to kill him and, instead, gifted him with his powers. Dirk eventually joined up with the Legion of Super-Heroes, a group of young, super-powered crusaders for good. Regulus resurfaced to clash with Dirk more than once, though he never managed to get the upper hand. Dirk has, as Sun Boy, become a recognized and admired stable figure in the lineup of the team.
SKILLS
COMBAT - Competent: Like the reset of the Legion, Dirk went through combat training. He is an excellent combatant and incorporates his powers ably into a fight.
LINGUISTICS - Competent: Dirk is an extremely able student of linguistics and knows enough to carry on knowledgeable dialogue at a high level.
PILOTING - Competent: Dirk is an especially good pilot of various vehicles, better than the average with most.
POWERS
SOLAR - Enhanced: Dirk is able to create and use heat and light. He can light an average-sized room easily by himself, with the capability of becoming so bright that he rivals the sun as seen from Earth. He can melt through most metals with the heat he can create and direct, even reaching temperatures hot enough to melt heat-resistant materials such as those used to build starships.
Dirk is also able to will his body to become hotter, which can make him become red or white from heat. Naturally, he is immune to heat and flame and can also absorb a limited quantity of heat and disperse it innocuously.

CREATIVE Dirk's mind works on a number of levels and isn't constrained by conventional thinking. Perhaps surprisingly, his free thoughts often lead to creative solutions and innovation.
LEGION As a member of the Legion, Dirk can rely on the team for support when it really counts. They may have their ups and downs between them, but when the chips are down, they're reliably there for any member of their vast family.
LEGION TECH As a member of the Legion of Super-Heroes, Dirk has access to a wide array of technology. The most common items he is most frequently known to use are the Legion flight ring (which allows flight by creating a personal anti-gravity field), the Omnicom (a powerful personal palmtop computer), and the transuit (a survival suit that protects against conditions in space and has a personal air supply).
POPULAR Dirk is a popular figure, one of the most widely-loved of the Legion.
WEAKNESSES
FATHER Dirk and his father do not enjoy a particularly ideal relationship. Most of the time, they stay out of each other's lives. Dirk is not overly fond of his father and his controlling ways, though his life with the Legion has put a healthy distance between them and given Dirk a greater degree of independence. Derek Morgna may still try things, and he does have influence in some circles.
IMAGE Dirk has cultivated a specific personal image that may make some find him shallow and meaningless. It can lead to some not taking him seriously when he needs them to do so, and it may even stand in the way of resolving serious situations.
