Yes, he's the Son of Satan. Scion of the Devil, or at least someone calling himself the Devil -- it's a title apparently -- Daimon Hellstrom is best known as a freelance exorcist with a strong disdain for shirts.
Background
Daimon Hellstrom was born of the union of demon and human, and along with his even less subtly-named sister Satana, they lived a life of idyllic family bliss. Given his sister's name and personality, and their father being Satan and everything, it was more a surprise that it shocked their mother so much to find out.
But Daimon ended up sort of falling through the cracks when Satan took his daughter and ran off. After bouncing around and gathering phenomenally rare knowledge and experience, Daimon learned enough in his studies to be ordained, though he did not pursue that path. It was about that time that Satan pulled Daimon to Hell for a chat, but Daimon told him what he could do with that to keep it from getting a sunburn and left, kicking the asses of legions of demons in the process. It was amazing.
After that, Daimon decided he would put his distinctive abilities to where they would give the most benefit: as a freelance exorcist, obviously.

Magic: Darksoul - Supreme Level
|
The Darksoul is essentially the aspect of Daimon's nature that is demonic, in the same way that Daimon's father considers himself demonic. It enhances his strength, makes it possible for Daimon to project blasts of energy or hellfire, and provides synergy with similarly or comparably demonic items and sorceries, such as his Netheranium trident and his chariot.
Drawing on the Darksoul more than normal will make Daimon more demonic in behavior. For example, he may give significantly greater priority to his own pleasure or satisfaction than a problem that is unlikely to involve any of those things for him. He may become more aggressive in some cases, or violent. Alternatively, he may become far less violent, but aggressive in other ways. The Darksoul's nature is primal, so what it brings out also tends to be.
Whether or not the Darksoul is especially tapped into, it manifests physically as a star-shaped mark spreading over Daimon's chest whenever he gets serious. The design is said to be a birthmark, but it looks more like a brand that is still molten hot. It's not easily seen unless he's barechested, which means it's usually easily seen.
Magic: Divination - Basic Level
|
Through a minor ritual, Daimon can either look to the future, to see what is likely to happen, or look to the past, to see as much of what occurred in a specific place as possible. He cannot look to the future and the past at the same time. Degree of detail will depend on how much energy is put into the effort, and difficulty increases with distance. If something happened earlier that day, it should be fairly easy and require little energy to get a clear idea of what occurred. If something happened a year ago, however, things will be more difficult and less clear. Similarly, extremely distant events in the future will not be crystal clear, most likely, due to so many factors complicating the potential outcomes.
Daimon typically uses his trident to make this easier. Without the trident, his impressions tend to be less clear and he has less ability to summon them on demand.
Magic: Exorcism - Supreme Level
|
Partially because he himself has demonic power and because his father is Satan (at least, operates as Satan regularly enough to be identified with the name), Daimon is an extremely effective exorcist. He need only place his hand on a possessed victim to expel any entities possessing them.
This may work less well if the possessing entity is not demonic at all in origin and has little primal connection. If, for example, the possessing entity were an angel in servitude to a deity opposed to Daimon's nature, it may instead lead to a supernatural fight.
Regardless, Daimon also knows the proper process and even the rituals necessary to perform an exorcism without using his supernatural power or influence, so it's possible that he could also guide someone with no power like his own to perform one.
Magic: Healing - Enhanced Level
|
Due to his nature, Daimon is quick to recover from even injury that would outright end an average human. His trident helps to boost his natural healing, which makes him quite a force to be reckoned with. Daimon is capable, given time, of regrowing limbs, though that's not to say it will be a pleasant experience for anyone.
Magic: Netheranium Trident - Supreme Level
|
An item of immense magical power, Daimon's trident can be summoned to his hand by his will. It can also be stored invisibly until it is needed. The trident may be sculpted into other shapes, to be used as different tools, which takes use of Darksoul-enhanced, willpower-based magic. It cannot expand or shrink very much, however, so it usually functions best as a polearm, and Daimon rarely has occasion to change its shape.
The trident is essentially indestructible and can stand up to significant power bearing against it, such as a major demon lord or a supreme magician. It provides protection for its wielder, and those close by. By its nature, Netheranium complements demonic energies ideally, which makes the trident a great help in any magic or supernatural feat that Daimon should wish to accomplish. It can store a generous amount of energy, though balancing that out is the energy demand for many of Daimon's grandiose feats.
The trident enhances Daimon's ability to sense magic and the supernatural, and what's more, it's able to give him a clearer impression of what he may be dealing with. It enables Daimon to see through most illusion, and confers something close to true sight on him, similar to the Eye of Agamotto's use by Doctor Strange.
With the trident, Daimon can fly by projecting his power through it, using it as a focus. It's not the most efficient method of flight, nor is it the easiest to control, but it is at least flight, and it does come in handy sometimes.
Overall, the trident is mostly used as a focus and an enhancement, and it brings broad enhancements to Daimon that make him even more formidable. However, it can also be used directly in physical combat, in which it behaves like any forked weapon comparable to its size and design, but with all of its enhanced traits.
Magic: The Chariot - Enhanced Level
|
Much like the Major Arcana card of the same name, Daimon has a dramatic and mystical chariot. This chariot can be summoned virtually anywhere, and it will respond to being summoned by issuing forth from its hiding spot, underneath the water of a lake near Daimon's childhood home.
It is drawn by three demonic flying horses named Set, Hecate, and Amon. The chariot can travel large distances in a very short time, and with added power such as from the Darksoul, it can travel between dimensions. The horses are essentially forces of nature, and the chariot is extremely resistant to even supernatural damage. It will not respond to just anyone, however, and only Daimon may summon it through his will, over larger distances. Others may be able to drive the chariot for some purpose, but not all. Again, Daimon is the only person who is able to successfully direct the chariot and its team every time, which may be due to his provenance.
Magic: Wards - Enhanced Level
|
Daimon can manipulate the forces of the universe and create either barriers to contain enemies, or magical defenses to shield against threats. This requires some drawing on his own energies and can be enhanced significantly by tapping into the Darksoul.
The more effort and personal investment Daimon puts into any wards, the stronger they are, but the more they affect him when they are attacked. This also means that if his wards are attacked, he should know immediately and probably have a good idea by whom.
ADVANTAGES
Daimon has studied a number of languages and can understand them to various degrees. One of his most comprehensive studies is that of Latin, in which he is highly functional.
Daimon has managed to carve out a realm of his own in the various magic dimensions. There, his will is absolute, and he is effectively invincible to any power but truly massive. If defeated in some way, Daimon may draw his energy back to his realm and regroup, reform, or whatever he needs to do.
He may travel to his realm through the power of will, though it is easiest to simply use the trident to create a portal. The realm is suited to him, even down to his soul's nuance, but others may find it daunting or even exhausting, or draining, to be in his realm for long. They may find themselves changing, and they may not like where they see themselves going.
Beings too diametrically opposed to Daimon and Daimon's nature may not be able to exist in his realm long. They may be ejected by the realm, for its own protection, or simply leave out of incompatibility. Some may be of such an incompatible nature fundamentally that they will not even be able to enter through a portal.
Daimon is utterly unshakeable. It makes sense. After a man finds out he's the son of Satan, it's hard for anything else to really outdo that. In all seriousness, though, Daimon can face sanity-shattering threats that would destroy the minds of lesser beings.
Daimon can transform his clothing at will. He seems to be limited to change from an outfit, to whatever costume or other attire he is operating officially in, and later back to his regular clothes.
WEAKNESSES
Damon. Damion. Damien. Hellstorm. Helstorm. Helstrom. Whatever the particular version, for whatever reason, a conspicuously large number of people just cannot get Daimon's name right. Either first or last, though often both. This doesn't usually cause major problems, but it is annoying, more so when it's so many people, and usually inexplicably all at the same time.
The Darksoul is a powerful part of Daimon, but it is also a dangerous one. Every time he uses its power, it tempts him for the next time. It's not that it's necessarily a bad thing, but it does tend to tempt Daimon towards less general responsibility outside of his own pleasure.
The Darksoul is an easy answer, but Daimon knows it also can't be overused. He knows that if he becomes reliant on the Darksoul's power, he may be drawn into a self-absorbed fugue that will be difficult to get him out of again.
It's not that being a demon is necessarily a bad thing, but it's easy to notice that Daimon is definitely one. From his loud demonic aura, to his slightly pointed ears, to his slight fangs, there are enough distinctive things that convey his nature well. Even his sense of fashion and grooming leans towards the distinctly demonic.
Daimon has an extremely unsubtly-named sister, who is likewise unsubtle in her lifestyle. She turns up at the least convenient times, to remind Daimon that he has a family and has good reason for trying to avoid it as much as possible. She could turn up fifty feet tall and fighting the Hulk, or she could be part of an incoherent but moody mystery. You just never know.
