George and the Lemon Tree
Lem is a hamadryad, soulbound to a Meyer Lemon Tree. The sapling he was bound to was bought by a kind elderly human named George, who did not know the difference between a Meyer Lemon Tree and an ordinary one. For many years, George would talk to the plant reassuring it that it's OK to take its time becoming an adult, genuinely believing that his tree was just a late bloomer. Lem eventually revealed himself to George, who seemed more surprised that he bought a different kind of lemon tree than the fact the lemon tree he bought came with a fae. For the remaining years of his life, George taught Lem everything he knows about human society, like reading, writing, and the importance of wearing clothes in public.

Like many dryads and fae, Lem's presence itself inspires some sense of endearment within ordinary creatures that disarms them to some level, similar to how one may react to seeing a puppy or a kitten. This effect can easily be resisted by anyone with strong powers, convictions, fortitude, or emotions. Moreover, this effect cannot be used by the hamadryad to manipulate others to do his bidding: it only functions as a form of self-defense.

Lem is able to conjure a magical lemon in his palm that explodes lemon juice everywhere when thrown, much like a water balloon. While it may sting if it gets in your eyes, the juice itself is non-magical and does not cause any damage.

As a fae with deep connections to nature, Lem has magical abilities to pertain to plants, such as encouraging them to grow or removing ailments. While concentrating, he can defy the plant's normal limitations, such as helping it grow in an inhospitable environment. When he stops focusing on the magic, however, the plant itself must be in a condition to thrive for the effects to last. If Lem encouraged vines to grow, for example, the same vines would wither and die if conditions would not sustain them once Lem is no longer channeling his energy into it.

As a fae (i.e., hamadryad), Lem shares a deep connection with nature that can be harnessed into magical powers. Lem's magic does not require any spellbooks, incantations, or gestures: it is simply activated through his will and will alone. However, Lem's magical abilities are narrowly confined to magic that channels plants in some form. Therefore, Lem's powers are significantly limited in areas without any flora.

Lem is able to travel between any trees, even when the tree appears too small to fit his frame (such as his soulbound lemon tree). Lem is restricted from traveling a great distance with this ability, as a hamadryad must remain close to his tree at all times.

Like most fae, Lem is able to communicate with animals. If it is not possible to commune with the animal due to its lack of ability to form coherent thoughts, Lem is still able to detect basic emotions and desires of the animal (e.g., hunger, anger). In order for this ability to work, Lem must be able to see the animal.
ADVANTAGES
Lem's necklace around his neck is magically imbued with a piece of his lemon tree, allowing him to travel a greater distance away from his soulbound tree than what is normally possible.
As a fae, Lem does not age nor does he need to drink and eat (though he can). So long as his lemon tree is well-taken care of, Lem is unlikely to be ill-affected through ordinary poisons and diseases. Lem can choose to sleep, if he wishes it, and he often does to better blend in with conventions of mortal society.
Lem's tree, the Meyer Lemon Tree, is a small enough tree that is known to be able to thrive in a pot. As such, so long as someone can move the potted tree he's bound to, Lem is also able to travel to a different location unlike many of his kin.

As a fae that shares his life force with a tree, Lem is vulnerable to cold and ice.

Lem is a hamadyrad of a Meyer Lemon Tree. As such, anything that happens to the tree he is bound to will impact him and vice versa. In addition to the shared connection, Lem is unable to travel too far from the tree itself befoe he suffers negative effects.
Unlike most trees that dryads and hamadryads are bound to, Lem's tree is a potted plant. As such, there is some level of disconnect with nature that limits his powers.
