Personality

Marco is a young man that carries the weight of the world upon him. He's unclear if he's supposed to become a hero or villain but he wants to do what he can while he can. He creates a distance between himself and most around him but at his core he is hopeful he might come to a better end than some of his predecessors.

Background

The Temira family is a family with a long legacy. While it's unclear where they originated, it's clear that at some point during the Dark Ages one of their forebears came to the attention of a Devil or Demon. Some family histories mark this as a curse, others as a binding. The end result though is that every generation one of the family members is bound to this demon. Some finding this a great curse, and others as a great boon to be sought out. It's also unclear just how much influence the demon itself on selecting the 'sacrifice'. (Though modern members have taken to calling this selectee the Jinchuriki). It's clear that stronger members of the family are preferred as on occasion the Demon breaks free into the mortal world typically resulting in corruption, death, mayhem, murder and the family moving to a new country. Other times when channelled correctly the Chosen has been able to tap into not insubstantial demonic power to do great good, or great evil, though most often they increase the family's wealth, influence, and prestige.

Marco is the latest in this heritage with his father wanting him to put these powers to good use for the family, after his father spent years vying for the position and marrying to get just the right type of child. Marco himself however has other ideas, instead hoping to grow strong enough to fully control and perhaps drive the demon fully from this plane. In the interim having grown up with the Occult he believes he should use what he has to try and help those he can often sneaking out to pursue occult threats as he sees them.

SIGNATURE ABILITY

Demonic Channeling

Marco can at times harness the demon inside of him. This is typically a mix of times when he is able to harness his resolve general to protect or eliminate a threat. Mixed with a healthy dose of adrenaline or pain. Channeling this power tends to have obvious visible signs (pointed horns, wings, claws) though it's not a full transformation rather specific aspects at play. Marco is typically left exhausted after using this power as the otherworldly power takes a toll on its human vessel.

SKILLS

Academics - Novice Level

Marco is a middling student at best.

Athletics - Expert Level

Marco plays multiple sports at school and has been training from youth.

Melee - Competent Level

Marco is an accomplished combatant having trained with a variety of weapons and sparring since childhood.

Occult - Competent Level

Marco has been studying the occult from childhood and has some basic experience with it both creatures, rituals, and magics.

ABILITIES

Power: Endurance - Enhanced Level

Marco has inherited a blessing/curse, resulting in a demon being bound into his body. This provides him enhanced durability and regeneration.

Power: Magic - Basic Level

Marco has grown up steeped in occult and has learned some basic rituals, mostly for enhancing his body and tapping on the power bound within him but also to reinforce the bindings upon himself and fighting inhuman threats.

Power: Mental Resistance - Enhanced Level

Marco's body is already possessed by a powerful otherworldly entity. This makes it difficult for certain forms of magical or supernatural manipulation to work on him. Particularly things that might influence emotions, mental control, psychic assaults, and the like have difficulty overwhelming Marco because of the nature of already having a powerful entity with a similar effect at play.

WEAKNESSES

Demonic Influence

Due to the corrupting influence of the demon inside of them, Marco at times risks succumbing to temptation. This can be subtle, with the demon encouraging poor decisions. It also can be more overt, urging him to take actions out of character. Typically this revolves around some inner thought or concern of Marco's. At an extreme he is at greater risk than some to full on possession. However, this would take serious and repeated acts to break some or all of the seals that were placed upon him.
