Port-Au-Feu - Le Jardin
Le Jardin is a definite contrast to the rest of the city. The dull hum of activity, of cars and people moving about in a rush, is completely absent, replaced with the tranquility that belongs in a forest. Large, ancient, and wild trees grow up here and there, as if barely contained; though none are actually pulling up sidewalks or street. The street isn't straight, either -- it winds and curls away from the eye, almost mazelike. There are shops and restaurants that give the impression they grew up on their own, along with the trees.
Immediately upon entering, there's a shop that stands out to most people; a glassworks shop, wares held in the large, paned glass windows, framed by spider-thin gold detail work. Orbs of light apparently nestle in little glass jars inside, making the street outside look like someone shattered a rainbow over it. Deeper in there's a small cafe, out front of which there's often someone painting the small street, or a guitar player with his case at his feet. Other artisans' shops dot the streetsides, and it's difficult sometimes to tell where the ivy that grows on the buildings ends, and the buildings themselves begin. Along the street someone's strung a long, thin thread from entrance to the far side, and small colored paper lanterns hang there. At night, these are illuminated with bright orbs of light, that seem to sway and dance on their own...
One must be cautious not to wander too far into the woods.
