A mysterious young man with an aptitude for ice magic. Alanus is a graduate of Wrosthorne, and a member of the Emberwing Order known as Alanus the Blue.
Background
Alanus is the child of an ice fae and an human adventurer, though he doesn't know it. His first memories are of showing up at Wrosthorne, apparently in his teens, having been carried there while unconscious by Eirwen, his ice guardian. He spent years there learning the ways of magic and scholarship, gobbling up knowledge hungrily and eager to start his own adventures. In time he graduated and began his adventures, joining first the Guild of Heroes and eventually joining the Emberwing Order as Alanus the Blue.
SIGNATURE ABILITY
Reborn in a Blizard
Should Alanus ever recieve fatal damage he will return later. Perhaps days or weeks, perhaps even months or years later. He'll simply walk out of a blizzard with no memory of anything since shortly before he died, and in fact no memory or dying.
SKILLS
Armed Combat - Competent Level

While his preferred method of attack is with magic, Alanus is trained in the use of daggers and swords, sparring with Eirwen on a daily basis using either mundane weapons or summoned weapons of ice.
While a mage by training, Alanus' philosophy is that mind and body should be as one, so he has trained rigorously to be in peek physical condition. His ice elemental guardian, Eirwen, trains him constantly, keeping him in top shape.
Alanus is intrinsically linked to the ebb and flow of magic that comes from all living and natural things. Through intense training he's learned to weave that into his senses and be aware of his surroundings at all times.
Alanus knows the basics of first aid and herbalism.
Scholarship - Expert Level

Alanus is very at home in libraries and in fact has a bag of holding that is full of books to read in his downtime. While he only spent a few years at Wrosthorne, he soaks up knowledge like a sponge.
Spellcraft - Expert Level

Alanus has an innate understanding of magic, which he has supplemented with a great deal of study. He is an expert on the theory of most kinds of magic, even if he doesn't practice them all himself.
Survival - Competent Level

Alanus spends most of his time adventuring, as such he has learned to survive in most environments and to identify most edible and poisonous plants. He prefers to rely on magic to provide him with comfort, but he has trained himself to do things the hard way for times when magic might bring unwanted attention.

Owing to his fae ancestry, however distant, Alanus is gifted with an intrinsic ability to sense magic and other forms of energy. As such he can see in the dark, hear things from a distance, and otherwise has senses beyond most humans.
Magic: Ice Magic - Supreme Level

Alanus is supremely gifted in all forms of magic that include ice or cold, whether it be conjuring nonliving constructs, such as armor or weapons of unmeltable ice, or creating golems of snow to serve him. He has an intrinsic link to all magics that include ice and Snow.
Power: Ice Resistance - Supreme Level

Alanus is immune to mundane and magic cold and ice damage. He'd be perectly comfortable skinny dipping in a frozen lake or taking a run in the middle of a blizzard. Most forms of ice magic have little effect on him.
Magic: Magic - Enhanced Level

Alanus is naturally gifted at manipulating most forms of magical energy, be it creating gates to far away places or speaking to the spirits of the dead to gather information. Essentially, he can perform most types of magical spells and effects as one would expect from a trained spellcaster. He is especially strong in magics related to ice, which is detailed in a separate Ability entry.

Alanus has natural armor of unmelting ice that perfectly conforms to his body and which he summons instinctively whenever he is in danger.

As a result of his fae blood, he's immune to most diseases and will never age past the apparent age of 20.
ADVANTAGES
Eirwen is a being of ice that takes human form and has guarded and taught Alanus from his earliest memories. Eirwen is a bit cagey as to whether he is a simple elemental or perhaps one of the primal fae. Whenever Alanus calls or is in danger, Eirwen is there in his ice armor ready to be of service.
Though he hasn't been an adventurer as long as some, he has managed to accumulate a comfortable amount of resources.
Alanus has a wizard's tower, like many members of the Emberwing Order. Located atop a snow-peaked mountain, within the tower Alanus keeps various magical artifacts he's gathered and is studying, as well as a magic door. With a simple ritual, he can attune any other door to connect back to this magic door, always allowing him an easy way to return home. One such door is linked to a small building in Altur, allowing him to travel there conveniently.
WEAKNESSES
Alanus looses his ability to use and sense magic if he is bound in forged iron that has been enchanted with a binding ritual. This may be due to an ancient oath or another unknown oddity inherited from his fae ancestry.
Alanus is very gifted in physical and intellectual arts. However, his social skills leave much to be desired. He's awkward, shy, and blunt. While he is an expert in the theory of etiquette and manners, the practice of such always seems to escape him.
