Left on the doorstep of a church full of witches soon after his birth, Danny Zane grew up living a very unusual life.
His primary education was focused on magic, and he only ever attended school randomly, sometimes on a lark and sometimes because he was interested in learning something. He has little regard for things like laws, but he's generally good-hearted and tends to try not to do others any harm. At the same time, he's not above stealing, especially if it's from some corporation that's just going to claim insurance money for it, anyway.
Drifting through life, Danny's seeking a purpose, but mostly casually. He has his magic, and he has the world. What else could he need?
Background
They always joked that Danny was "left by the fairies." He wasn't, but they still used to say it all the time. He was actually found in a basket on the front step of a church. He'd cringe to admit to coming into the world on such a corny note, but that's what happened. Well, it's slightly deceptive to say he was left at a church. It's true, he was left at a church, but it wasn't being operated as a church at the time. It had become home to a group of witches. They were a cheerful group, and they just sort of adopted Danny into their number without question. They were a family of a kind, but they never pretended to be his family. They also gave him a first-class occult education from birth, and they also taught him how to get by in the system without becoming a part of it. Danny doesn't even have a birth certificate. It's true! Every document on him that ever existed was faked, and they tended to go missing, anyway. Very quirky. Danny never properly attended school, but he was given a first-rate primary education by the coven, and as he grew older he began to strike out on his own more and more. He still visits the coven sometimes, but really, they've got their life, and he's got the world to see! More often these days, he sends letters back to them in San Francisco, and when he has an address, they still sometimes send him care packages. Most recently, he's come to the Port-Au-Feu area, where he's following up on something he's quite curious about. Apparently, he has family there! While he doesn't feel a burning lack, he's curious, so he's decided to find out more.
Danny is the son of a human and a mostly human. His bloodline includes a bit of ancient blood that dates back to primal times, but he does not fall into any camp associated with Heaven or Hell, and he certainly has no connection to any fallen angels. While he could be said to have a connection to demons, it would be more in the sense of primal daemons or daimones, but hey, who gives a fuck about labels, anyway?

This is a subset of Danny's Witchcraft ability, listed separately to reflect his higher level of power and ability within this type of magic. When it comes to elemental magic, Danny is especially skilled with the use of the air element. Spells involving air, lightning, and associated effects like weather come quite easily to him and tend to have increased potency.

He's a very gifted person, with a sharp and capable mind and a strong will. He learns quickly, retains information very well, and has a mind that is both quick to react and highly resilient.

Something in Danny's bloodline ensures that no matter what happens to him, he always bounces back. He doesn't regenerate damage instantly, but he heals very quickly. He can be harmed like most others, but with a night's sleep he'll heal from just about anything, from damage to his body to illness to toxic exposure. He also recovers mentally quite quickly, even from psychic shock or great mental trauma. This ability, interacting with his magic, also means that his aging (not his physical maturation) is reset the same way, keeping him effectively young indefinitely.
ADVANTAGES
The same bloodline that causes Danny discomfort in certain situations also makes him quite gifted when it comes to magic. He learns spellcraft, occult practices, alchemy, and other such things as if he were born to them. This is a mixture of natural aptitude and an attunement, originated by his bloodline and shaped by his life, to magical and occult energies and forces.
WEAKNESSES
Danny has a hell of a time with accounts and records. Something in his blood, or his magic, or maybe both, just resists him melting neatly into the fabric of human society. Maybe he has a touch of wyld magic in him. Whatever it is, official records on him just seem to disappear. Computer files are lost. Personal connections don't suffer from this, but impersonal ones, from credit cards to email accounts to his police record, just tend to evaporate. He's learned to get by on burner phones and borrowed accounts, but it can be pretty annoying at times.
There are very old creatures in the world that predate the concepts of "angels" and "demons." Whatever you call them, they're spiritual beings with a strong primal aspect, and they might be considered holy or profane, depending on who's being asked. Danny carries a drop of such blood. Because of this, places and things sanctified under spiritual traditions that are hostile to the older ways make him very uncomfortable. A blessed crucifix or holy water would not burn him, but it would make him uncomfortable to hold on to, much as would many churches. This is not because he is "evil" or "demonic," just because his spiritual energy and the kind of spiritual energy that many modern spiritual traditions are channelling really do not mix well.
When it comes to elemental magic, Danny is least able to use the earth element. Spells involving earth, stone and associated effects like directly manipulating wood or plants are especially difficult for him, and it tends to take much more power for him to achieve them, so they tend to be less effective even when they work.
Having never known his parents, Danny bounced around a lot when he was growing up. He's remarkably well-adjusted despite this, having never been very bothered about his family, but it has left him with some gaps in his personal experience and with a strong independent streak. He tends to assume he can only really trust himself and tends to see rules as minor obstacles at best.
