A star magnoball player on his homeworld of Braal, Rokk Krinn became a founding member of the Legion of Super-Heroes when he, Lightning Lad, and Saturn Girl saved the life of billionaire R.J. Brande. Cosmic Boy is a dedicated Legionnaire and its most famous leader, known as the heart of the Legion even when not front and center. He is an extremely powerful magnetokinetic.

Personality

Really deep down, Rokk Krinn is a big nerd. He sometimes fronts as stern, sometimes as authoritarian, sometimes he comes off as brittle, sometimes as Team Captain alpha-jock, but he's really a shy guy who likes trivia night and history books and D&D and old movies (he may be a bit of a hipster when he lets his hair down). He's a relentless optimist, believing that as long as you're alive, there's hope, and he's got a bottomless love in his heart for pretty much everybody, especially his compatriots in the Legion. His devotion is powered by a strong will, a magnetic moral compass, and the fact that he is the sort of leader who will never ask anyone to do something he isn't willing to do himself.

Background

Rokk Krinn of Braal was actually born on Earth (to Braalian parents) and the planet always held a place in his heart. During his early teenage years, when Braal was suffering a period of economic hardship, Rokk decided to travel to Earth to find work. While he was doing so, he helped two other young people foil an attempt on the life of billionaire R.J. Brande, and with the billionaire's support, they became Cosmic Boy, Saturn Girl, and Lightning Lad, the founding members of the Legion of Super-Heroes. Cosmic Boy was the first leader of the team, and is still considered its archetypical leader by many.

SKILLS

ATHLETICS - Competent: Cosmic Boy was once a world-champion Magnoball player, considered by some to be the best ever (he believes his little brother Pol is better than he ever was). He has a high degree of personal agility, flexibility and strength, gymnastic skill and endurance, both on the ground and in the air, as he has maintained his professional conditioning as a member of the Legion of Super-Heroes.

COMBAT - Competent: As a Legionnaire, Cosmic Boy has fought dangerous supervillains and also engaged in combat training with a number of individuals with complex and dangerous super-powers. He has also received extensive combat training from one of the most gifted hand-to-hand combatant who has ever lived, the Karate Kid.

HISTORY - Competent: Cosmic Boy is, among his myriad other traits, a gigantic history nerd. His particular area of interest is 20th and 21st century, especially its heroes but also its music, its culture, and its fashion - he is, on occasion and when given the opportunity, a very anachronistic dresser. Still, he is something of a buff on the past, and has a keen interest in filling in gaps in the historical record lost over the passage of time.

LEADERSHIP - Competent: The Legion of Super-Heroes is basically a big bag of cats, and Cosmic Boy was the first official Cat-Herder. When it comes to juggling the big egos, disparate desires, morale, and needs of his Legion, he is considered by many to be the best. He may disagree, but in the minds of most, even in the Legion itself, Cosmic Boy is the man in charge.

POWERS

FLIGHT - Enhanced: Due to his power as a magnetokinetic, Cosmic Boy is capable of using his personal magnetic field to levitate in the air and fly, with a high degree of control. This can be used in tandem with his Flight Ring, greatly supplementing his speed and maneuverability.

MAGNETOKINETIC - Supreme: All Braalians are Magnetokinetic to one extent or another, but Cosmic Boy is noteable because he tests in the highest known percentile among Braalians for both power and magnetic control. This means he has a honed ability to perceive electromagnetic fields, the ability to easily manipulate tons of materials with his powers, the ability to independently manipulate multiple objects at one time, and a high degree of fine control.

ADVANTAGES

LEGION The Legion of Super-Heroes is a vast, chaotic bunch of 31st-century superheroes dedicated to doing good and almost guaranteed to break out into an argument when more than two of them are gathered into a room for any length of time. They are Cosmic Boy's extended family, his brothers and sisters-in-arms and he is absolutely, unshakeably certain that they have his back, always. While the Legion has had its ups and downs... he's right.

LEGION-TECH As a member of the Legion of Super-Heroes, Cosmic Boy has advanced technology available to him, including but not limited to:

Legion Flight Ring: The signet ring each Legionnaire gets is capable of generating an anti-gravity field allowing for independent flight, along with a long-distance communicator and tracker.

Transuit: Nigh-invisible spacesuits that allow for full mobility and function in space environments, along with radiation shielding and an independent air supply.

Brande Industries Omnicom: A top of the line palmtop computer and general sensor package. Legionnaires receive the newest models of Omnicom gratis, and their units are often customized.

WEAKNESSES

OUT FRONT Cosmic Boy leads from the front, and as such, to a lot of the Legion's enemies, he's its physical embodiment. The envious, the vengeful, they'll go for Cosmic Boy first, either because he's so obvious or because they think taking him down will demoralize the rest of the Legion.

POL KRINN Cosmic Boy's little brother is a Magnoball star, a burgeoning celebrity, and he really wants to follow in his older brother's footsteps and be a Legionnaire. Pol is Cosmic Boy's heart, and if anything were to happen to his younger brother, it would wound him to the core.
