Extradimensional Kree hero, Noh-Varr was genetically engineered to be an essential part of an elite team of explorers and preservers of peace. Things went sideways, and now he's taking his time to appreciate his love of music and Earth culture. It's bound to keep him busy for a little while!

Personality

Noh-Varr is pretty easy to like, although some will find him more sympathetic than others. He can be grandiose at times, in both speech and actions, just as he can be remarkably accessible and down-to-earth. He is highly sentimental and possesses what might be called an artistic temperament, and he is also highly individualistic and resents authoritarian attempts to suppress that distinctiveness. A bit of a free spirit, he is highly honest with both himself and those he trusts about his feelings and affections. He recognizes his own youth and realizes that he is young and should take time to figure out who he is, what he wants, and who he can be with in his life, even though at times this brings him into conflict with his contemporaries. Under it all, he's a very sensitive and kind, creative individual who carries a great deal of hurt and damage with him, but he tries to deal with it as best he can.

Background

A genetically-engineered member of the Kree race in another dimension, Noh-Varr joined a diplomatic peacekeeping group of interdimensional explorers. After a disastrous run-in with cosmic beings, their ship was lost amongst the layers of the multiverse, emerging over ours. The insane Dr. Midas managed to shoot the ship down, leaving Noh-Varr the only known survivor.

Noh-Varr was far from pleased at this turn of events and set out intent on avenging the tragedy. This, however, brought him into conflict with SHIELD, who similarly employed a genetically-engineered squad of artificial superhumans. Noh-Varr defeated them, but he almost immediately was captured by the Exterminatrix, who happened to be Midas's daughter. She had a change of heart, especially after Dr. Midas sent a Mindless One in his keeping against the two of them.

After they united to defeat it, they had to confront Midas himself, who had used the cosmic ray drive on the Marvel to transform himself into the Cosmic Man. Again the two combined their power to stop him, in part using the Mindless One to spell Midas's doom as the Cosmic Man, sending him into another dimension filled with other Mindless Ones. Exterminatrix then betrayed Noh-Varr, but he was able to escape the encroaching forces of SHIELD with the last of the Marvel's power.

Since then, he has occupied himself repairing the Marvel's systems and getting Plex back online and restored to a fuller ability to function.

SKILLS

COMBAT - Expert: Noh-Varr is an expert at a variety of forms of combat, including hand-to-hand and armed. He is experienced with a wide array of armaments as well, and he is a superb marksman with projectile weaponry.

EXPRESSION - Competent: A lover of the arts, Noh-Varr is especially fond of music and can recognize the beauty of all kinds. He is able to express himself well, and he is highly capable of appreciating most all artistic expression. He is knowledgeable enough of music to work ably as a DJ.

PILOTING - Competent

STRATEGY - Competent: Noh-Varr is a proficient strategist and can make, as well as carry out, fairly elaborate plans. In this same basc area, he is also good at the tactics applied to strategy, negotiation as an application of interpersonal strategy, and subterfuge.

TECHNOLOGY - Expert: Noh-Varr is excellent at figuring out and using even highly-advanced technology, from all areas of the universe and even other universes. If it can be understood, it's likely he possesses the ability to decipher how it can be operated or even, in some cases, upgrade it to serve his purposes.

POWERS

ENERGY PROJECTION - Basic: Noh-Varr has a basic ability to gather available ambient energy and project blasts of energy from his hands. It is highly limited and tends to be exhausting, since it draws on his own energy as well as that around him. In low-energy environments, it may not even be possible. It is a rarely-used ability and certainly only at a nascent stage.

PHYSIOLOGY - Supreme: With a genetically-engineered body, Noh-Varr possesses a number of qualities specific to his form.

He possesses a triple-jointed muscular structure, which not only affords him profound flexibility and ability to squeeze through spaces impossible for most others of his size, but it also makes him far more durable than an average Kree. He is able to survive various types of injuries and impacts that average Kree, and certainly average humans, could not.

He is able to exert a greater amount of control over his systems than most living things are able. He can control growth of certain things such as hair and fingernails, as well as enable bursts of adrenaline if it is available. He is able to redirect pain to different parts of his brain in order to avoid feeling it, and he is capable of entering a temporary state he calls a "White Run" mode, in which he can ignore any and all distractions while moving at his fastest and most efficient, acting mainly on instinct and not actively using his higher brain functions.

Due to the insect genetics in his body, Noh-Varr is able to walk on most surfaces, including walls and ceilings. Some surfaces are more difficult than others, and he must be in contact with the surface with his bare skin.

Another feature of his insectoid genetic qualities is his enhanced hearing, due to tympanic membranes that are part of the skin all over his body.

Noh-Varr's saliva is hallucinogenic, though the degree and extent of it depends on how great a quantity a person has been exposed to, as well as their natural resistances to such things. Certain other tissues and biological byproducts of his may also be poisonous or hallucinogenic to some degree.

The nanobots in his system, which are self-maintaining, allow him the ability to, by will, try to interface with and control technology directly interfaced with him. Their reliability varies.

REFLEXES - Enhanced: Noh-Varr is unbelievably agile, and his reflexes are such that he can even dodge bullets and some laser fire.

SPEED - Enhanced: Noh-Varr is able to move at superhuman speeds, excelling most vehicles as well and achieving a cruising speed of around 100 miles per hour, with ability to go faster for shorter bursts.

STAMINA - Enhanced: Noh-Varr has remarkable stamina and can operate at optimal levels for an above-average length of time.

STRENGTH - Enhanced: Noh-Varr's strength far exceeds that of even the average Kree. He is able to lift and throw most vehicles effortlessly, though heavier and more complex objects take more effort. His ability can approach 20 tons without strain and extend even to figures around 25 tons as a general upper limit.

ADVANTAGES

ARSENAL Noh-Varr maintains an arsenal on the Marvel of impressive breadth and variety.

COSTUME Noh-Varr's costume is crafted from extremely dense materials, including cosmic metals that are extremely durable against impact, trauma, and damage in general. It is well-insulated and highly protective from environmental hazards and can be altered to different lengths and designs, with the appropriate technology such as the Marvel.

GAUNTLETS Noh-Varr possesses twin gauntlets that he can transform into weaponry. Most typically, he transforms them into twin guns capable of a range of fire from light concussive blasts to more damaging blasts. He may also combine them and their potential into more destructive capabilities able to devastate significant structures. He sometimes transforms them into other weapons, such as bladed weapons, and he can use them to block attacks of weapons such as arrows.

MARVEL An advanced ship built originally for interdimensional travel, the Marvel is Noh-Varr's ship and home. Equipped with the advanced Plex intelligence, it now only possesses limited dimensional travel capabilities but otherwise functions perfectly well as a base of operations and an interstellar spacecraft. The Marvel contains facilities such as a laboratory, medical bay, shuttlecraft, hydroponic center, and quarters.

WEAKNESSES

ANTI-AUTHORITARIAN Noh-Varr tends to resist authoritarian figures and approaches. He does not take well to being commanded in general, but especially not by that type of person or organization.

ENEMIES Even if he's from another dimension, Noh-Varr has already managed to make some enemies with connections. He is untrusted by SHIELD and some heroes, which can lead not only to complications when dealing with the heroic side, but also when dealing with villains, who may either misunderstand Noh-Varr, try to coerce him, or want to destroy him even more.

IDENTITY Noh-Varr has no real established secret identity. While this may be liberating in a number of ways, it can also be dangerous to him or to anyone he forms any sort of connection with, at any time.

KREE As a member of the Kree people, Noh-Varr is likely to be met with distrust, if not outright aggression, by the Kree's age-old enemies, the Skrulls. Further, he is not a Kree from this universe and cannot depend on his people's support and likewise does not always embody or represent their values. There are additionally plenty of other people on the planet, heroes and villains alike, who view the Kree with distrust regardless of their actual origins.

OUTSIDER Because he is a stranger to Earth and this dimension, Noh-Varr does not always possess knowledge or skills that natives would take for granted. It may also make it more difficult for him to fit in with certain groups.

SELF-INTEREST It's not to say that Noh-Varr never works well with others, but he will always have his own agenda and his own goals that can take precedence over those of even his allies. Sometimes this can lead to friction or distrust.
