— Himself, to Lindsey McDonald
Angel was one of the most famous vampires of all time in vampire history, legendary for both his savage villainy and his great heroism. Born Liam in 1727 in Galway, Ireland, he was sired by Darla in 1753 and changed his name to Angelus and was dubbed The Scourge of Europe, earning notoriety for being one of the most sadistic and brutal demons in history, and the most evil vampire ever recorded. Both The Master and the First Evil recognized how purely evil Angelus was. He was also known as The Demon with the Face of an Angel or The One with the Angelic Face because of his physical beauty. However, in 1898, Angelus was cursed by the members of Clan Kalderash as vengeance for killing a member of their clan. They returned his soul, forcing him to live eternally in guilt over the countless crimes he had committed. In the late 20th century, Angel, as he began calling himself, became an ally to Buffy Summers. After the two were forced to realize their limitations as a couple, Angel left Buffy and moved to Los Angeles, where he became a Champion of the Powers That Be and dedicated himself to "helping the helpless" in the hope of achieving atonement.

Personality

Angel tends to be reserved and is often seen as more wounded up and uptight in contrast to other characters, sometimes even rivaling Wesley and Giles. His most prominent and mocked trait was his tendency to be overly gloomy and brooding. Before moving to Los Angeles, he was inclined to spend much of his time alone, and was never open with friends or allies, with the exception of Buffy to an extent, though he still kept quiet about his past from her, as he felt it would disgust her. The sins he committed when souless are constantly at the back of his mind, to a degree where he felt for a very long time that he did not deserve happiness or redemption. He defied Whistler's wishes for him to help Buffy at first, and many years later, when he was offered a chance to live without his vampiric weaknesses with the Gem of Amara, he chose to destroy it instead, justifying that he needed to continue living with his punishment. He also refused Drusilla's offer to remove his pain with her Lorophage Demon because he felt that his guilt drove him to do good and kept Angelus at bay. While Angel's belief in his mission for redemption fluctuates frequently over being worth it, he still continued to help others as a champion.

Angel was quite self-detrimental and was prone to long spells of doubt, depression and regret. He still felt that he was far from deserving of contentment, but worked tirelessly to prove himself to his peers and the Powers That Be. Still, for a long time he believed himself a lost cause. When he fed off the body of a shop keeper in a moment of weakness in the 1970s, he resigned himself to a life of homelessness, and was not stirred out of it until Whistler showed him Buffy Summers approximately twenty years later. Though this state of mind changed somewhat when he fell in love with Buffy, it wasn't until he learned about the Shanshu Prophecy that he truly began believing in himself and his actions. Angel was also established as detached from reality, and didn't find many things in his life he could look forward to. Unlike humans, who grow and learn as they age, Angel was frozen in time.

He has an almost unhealthy obsession with his destiny; he will follow almost any metaphorical road as long as he believes it will help people (specifically Buffy or himself) to achieve what they were destined for. Because of this, he could easily make dangerous decisions.

Despite this, he nonetheless displayed a tendency to throw taunts and insults to his enemies or just those he intensely disliked. Angel also possessed a sense of humor despite his serious personality, usually in the form of dark sarcasm. He was also very self-conscious, and worried what other people thought of him very often. He believed he had little talent with words, and disliked public speaking. During his first year in Los Angeles with Angel Investigations, he displayed an acute lack of people skills, and was very anti-social and reclusive. He worried constantly what people would think of him, and was reluctant to drink blood around his friends. Simply put, Angel had difficulty trusting others, and it took him a long time to feel comfortable around his companions. Eventually, Angel became more comfortable with himself and social interaction the more he connected with people in Los Angeles, noting after a few months that he had come to think of his new colleagues as his family. He could also be unintentionally blunt in his reasoning and manner of speech, though this eventually became less frequent over the years. Angel's speech patterns were also established as cryptic and sometimes abbreviated, much to Buffy and others' frequent irritation. He had a tendency to bottle up his emotions, feelings and problems behind stoicism, causing him to appear difficult to read and secretive. According to his friends and despite his constant objection, he rarely smiled and only openly cried on one occasion.

Angel was also somewhat of a natural nurturing figure, easily sympathizing with the hardships of others and taking it upon himself to be the one to guide them through it. His chivalry and sensitivity frequently made him prone to seeing others as his complete responsibility, specifically "damsels in distress". Angel's protective instincts towards others are intensified towards those he deeply loves, even to the point of being somewhat extreme. This is made most obvious through his interactions with Connor, Cordelia, and Buffy. Because of his borderline martyr complex, Angel has repeatedly sacrificed his own happiness for the sake of the world or individual people who mean a lot to him, such as giving up his humanity to in an attempt to save Buffy from her prophesied death and destroying the Gem of Amara. However, while Angel enjoyed "helping the helpless", he was also especially motivated by the prospect of redemption in the form of Shanshu. The thought that he might someday be forgiven for his past and allowed to live on deeply affected him, causing him to latch on to it immediately. Over the years, Angel became increasingly ambivalent over the Shanshu Prophecy, varying between focusing on doing good to achieve the prophecy and trying to do good for its own sake, eventually convincing himself by the fallout of Twilight that it was no longer possible because of all the damage he caused with a soul and without.

For most of his ensouled depression, Angel's opinion of people was mostly uncaring and negative despite his newfound guilt for his sins. However, after meeting Buffy and seeing the well of inner strength she possessed, his outlook on humanity slowly changed. He naturally associated them with "always trying", no matter the cost, and more than once made reference to their right to choose over others' attempts to impose their own will on them. Angel admitted on two separate occasions he admired that about people, citing it as one of aspects that drove him to atone, a sharp contrast from his soulless counterpart who did not have faith in the "human condition" and believed their only purpose was to suffer and die. However, unlike Buffy, who adamantly refused to kill humans no matter how evil they were, Angel had no such reservations and would kill a human easily if they murdered or threatened innocents; for example, he unhesitatingly killed the human assassin Vanessa Brewer, whom Wolfram & Hart repeatedly prevented from being brought to justice for her crimes, when she was hired by them to kill three blind children.

Background

May, 1764: Angelus and Darla killed the wife and infant son of vampire hunter Daniel Holtz, and turned his young daughter into a vampire, forcing him to destroy her. Holtz then devoted himself to capturing Angelus and Darla, and chased them across Europe. He managed to kill almost four-hundred other vampires in the process.

1765: Angelus and Darla had a near miss with Holtz in Arles after making too much noise by ordering room service and then eating the waiters. Darla fled to Vienna, knocking out and abandoning Angelus in a burning barn and riding off on their only horse. After meeting again in Vienna and eating a troubadour in Madrid, Angelus and Darla became acquainted with the vampires James and Elisabeth.

1767: Holtz tracked them down in Marseilles and managed to put numerous arrows in Angelus." After voyaging to Morocco, Holtz briefly lost them in northern Africa.

1771: Holtz tracked Angelus to Rome and captured him. With the assistance of Monsignor Rivalli, Holtz tortured Angelus while trying to figure out how to get Angelus to help him to capture Darla. But instead, Darlacame to the rescue with a horde of vampires. Darla declined to kill Holtz, telling Angelus that she was having too much fun tormenting him and he was now "like family." With this, Holtz abandoned his hunt and retired to York until 1773 when a demon named Sahjhan offered to take him to the future in exchange for his promise to kill the Angel and Darla of that time.

1786: Angelus sired a Puritan by the name of Penn, who mimicked Angelus by wreaking havoc on his father and killing his family. Over time, he began copying Angelus' "signature" of the time, carving a cross-shaped mark on the face of his victims in order to spite God.

1789: A lone Angelus encountered The Beast in Prussia, standing in a field of bodies. The Beast sought Angelus' aid in killing the Svear Priestesses, a group who wished to banish the Beast who could not kill them himself. When Angelus declined to assist the Beast, he was violently attacked, but a group of Svear priestesses banished the Beast while Angelus was passing out.

December 25, 1838: Angelus won a card game and took his winnings by killing his opponent, a man named Daniel, in Dublin, Ireland, who was to be married the next day.

1860: a young woman named Drusilla from London caught the attention of Darla, who then presented her to Angelus, as a gift. Drusilla was "cursed" with the "sight"; the ability of foresight, something her mother saw as "an affront to the Lord." Drusilla and her sisters were all noted to be virgins, and Drusilla was described as being "sweet, pure and chaste." While posing as her priest in order to torment her, Angelus killed her family in front of her, which caused Drusilla to flee to a convent. On the day she was to take her holy orders, Angelus massacred the convent. After having sex with Darla on top of Drusilla, Angelus finally pushed her over the edge into complete insanity. It was at that point that he turned her into a vampire. Drusilla was Angelus' "masterpiece", an everlasting testament of his finest cruelty, as her immortality meant that her torment would never end.

1880: Desiring a companion of her own, Drusilla sired the mild-mannered and lovesick poet, William, to whom Angelus served as a mentor and role model for a while. William went so far as to consider the elder vampire his sire and "Yoda." Angelus taught William about the art of mass slaughter, including an incident during a wedding party where Angelus beat the groom to death with his own arm. When he realized how much William cared for Drusilla, Angelus had sex with her just to hurt him, an action William would never forgive. He abandoned Angelus' mentorship, and took on a reckless, rebellious persona that brought constant danger to Angelus' group, but remained a romantic at heart.

1883: Angelus killed a female servant named Margaret during a luxurious Christmas party in London. The woman had a young son, whom Angelus killed afterwards.

1888: William got himself, Angelus, Darla and Drusilla chased out of London and into an abandoned mine shaft in Yorkshire by an angry mob. Angelus and Darla outwardly wondered why they hadn't yet killed William, who had taken the alias "Spike", for his dangerously rebellious behavior. Angelus made an attempt to threaten him with mention of the Slayer, but Spike, who had never heard of the Slayer before, became instantly intrigued, and went on to develop an long-lasting obsession with; he murdered two Slayers, and became a particularly renowned vampire as a result.

1890: Angelus attended a production of Giselle by the Blinnikov, a Russian ballet troupe run by Count Kurskov. Despite being evil, he was moved to tears during the performance. The same year, Angelus and Spike used a trick that involved them holding hands and beheading their enemies with a length of wire in St. Petersburg, Russia.

1894: Angelus and Spike were captured in Rome, Italy by henchmen of The Immortal, a mysterious and seductive being with whom they both had a fierce rivalry. The two male vampires were restrained while The Immortal had a threesome with Darla and Drusilla, something that, incidentally, the female vampires never allowed Angelus and/or Spike to do. Angelus and Spike attempted to take revenge on the Immortal, but failed miserably.

1898: Angelus' unlife took a pivotal turn when he murdered the favorite daughter of a tribe of romani, the Kalderash clan in Borsa, Romania, who had been kidnapped and given to him by Darla as a " birthday present."To avenge her death, the Kalderash cursed him by restoring his human soul, thus afflicting him with a conscience and condemning him to an eternity of remorse for the crimes he had committed while soulless. Bedraggled and dirty, looking like a beggar, he attacked and tried to feed on a woman, but was unable to.

June, 1900 (Boxer Rebellion): In China, Angelus tried to resume his life with Darla, but found himself able to kill only animals, murderers, and rapists while protecting innocents from Darla. Darla noticed this, angry at his deception and inability to kill innocent humans while Spike had recently killed a Slayer. She confronted him about it gave him the chance to prove himself by feeding on a baby whose parents Darla killed. He refused and instead rescued the child by jumping out of a window.

1902: Angelus fled and lived in self-imposed isolation, controlling the temptation to feed by avoiding humans altogether. He traveled to the United States, and arrived in New York City via Ellis Island.

1920s: Angelus spent some time in Chicago, where he saved a little lap dog from being run over by a car; however, he was tempted to feed on the dog's owner, a young woman who tried to seduce Angel, only to be harshly rejected. In Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, Angel had a disagreement with a demon named Boone over a señorita, for which Boone called him out. Angel fought Boone for three-and-a-half hours until the sun came up and Boone honorably let him go. Angel then spent time in Missoula, Montana during the Great Depression.

World War II: Angel was coerced into undertaking a secret mission by the Demon Research Initiative. When they call him Angelus he informs them that he has shortened his name to "Angel". They sank him to the bottom of the ocean to rescue an American submarine crew from three vampires the Nazis had captured as part of their paranormal research activities: Spike, Nostroyev, and The Prince of Lies. After the American crew had captured the German submarine, the vampires had escaped their bonds and murdered most of the crew; the few survivors sought refuge behind a locked hatch. After the submarine suffered damage from a depth charge, Angel was forced to sire a mortally wounded Ensign Sam Lawson, as he was the only person who was able to repair the damage, and while Angel didn't care about the mission, he needed to have it succeed to get the U

SKILLS

ADVANCED COMBAT: Expert - Advanced combat: He is a highly skilled combatant and generally fights unarmed, using circular attacks such as spinning kicks and back hands. In addition to his proficiency in many forms of martial arts, he has mastered many varieties of weapons, favoring broadswords and sometimes axes. He is even more dangerous when Angelus takes over, since his soul-less self often fights with no remorse. During his lifetime, Angel successfully stood up to and defeated a wide variety of powerful and skilled opponents, including Buffy Summers, Faith Lehane, Marcus Hamilton, amongst others. Additionally, Angel beat Spike on numerous occasions, only losing to his protégé once, when he was discouraged and suffering self doubt, in their century plus association. Following Darla being sired by Drusilla, a cold, ruthless and driven Angel was shown to have single-handedly defeated around twenty vampires and demons in one fight.

ART AND WRITING: Expert - He has "very nice handwriting" and is a gifted artist, using charcoal crayon and China ink to draw portraits.

ATHLETICS: Expert - Angel has spent a lot of time running, jumping, doing general parkour, and most of all, chasing supernatural enemies down that try to run away from him. While Angel lacks the speed powers of other vampire breeds, this makes up for quite a bit of the lack, though it still just isn't as good as the actual speed powers other vampire breeds have. This also applies to training at lifting heavy objects at various angles, and other 'gym' style activities. It's all about training with him.

FAE ETIQUETTE: Novice - Angel is very new to the world of the Fae he's entered, and mostly relies on old fashioned human etiquette then solid knowledge of the Fae, of which he has no experience till very recently.

INVESTIGATION: Competent - Angel owns an Investigation Firm in Angel Investigations, and as such, has learned most of the tricks of the trade. Ironically, he didn't learn them from actual 'save the world' missions. Rather, it's the normal every day profitable work 'Find out if he cheated on me' that actually taught him to be a good Investigator. While especially good at ferreting out lies directly, as that's Manipulation, this more details following physical clues. On the supernatural front, it details figuring out which kind of demon he's tracking by the slime it leaves behind or the scent it gives off. The Knowledge itself is covered under Lore, this is more following clues. While Stealth and Athletics are detailed elsewhere, this also involves making sure he doesn't lose a target once he's in pursuit.

LEADERSHIP/TACTICS: Expert - Angel often fights things that are faster and stronger then he is and wins anyway. This happens through tactical ingenuity and a penchant for weakness exploitation. Whether it's decapitation, silver, cold iron, vervain, white oak, rowan, mountain ash, holy oil, banishing rituals, exorcisms...you name it, Angel probably has the right tool for the job, or can get the right tool for the job. After a bit of research, he'll even come up with obscure kills like using a blessed glove, which is the one and only way to kill a Kleynach demon. He can also defeat older and theoretically faster and stronger members of his own kind that way, using their arrogance and the fact most of them don't actually spend much time training to fight. This tactical genius manifests under Angelus too, but in this case, he uses it to tear people's hearts and souls and minds apart with terrifying skill and expertise. He can and will leave people gibbering in the corner. Ask Drusilla.

Moreover, Angel is a real leader with centuries of experience, and can inspire allies, even those with supernatural abilities very different from his own to fight better then they would otherwise, and in some cases even vampires older then he is (Notably Darla, when he was Angelus) were willing to follow him. Whether good or evil, he gets results that anyone on the same side can respect. Further, people who work with him on a consistent basis will get trained, and find themselves more effective then they were before. He inspires great loyalty from those around him, while his evil alter ego tends to inspire great fear.

MANIPULATION: Expert - As Angelus, he displayed considerable skill in manipulating others' emotional states, using psychological tactics to attack both the Scooby Gang and Angel Investigations both times when Angel lost his soul, though the most notable example was his driving Drusilla insane. He was also an expert in torture as both Angel and Angelus.

MOTORIST SKILLS: Competent - Angel can drive and has a good eye for cars, owning a black 1967 Plymouth GTX and a Dodge Viper, along with an entire garage full of other cars as W&H CEO.

MULTILINGUALISM: Expert - Angel can speak several languages, including English, Korean, Mandarin, Tibetan, Japanese, Greek, Latin, Italian, Spanish, French, Belarusian, Romanian, Bulgarian, and German, and attempted to learn the language of the Vinji and Sahrvin demons via an instruction tape.

OCCULTISM: Expert - Because of his age, Angel had immense knowledge of both demonology and history (on occasion rivaling that of Giles and Wesley).

PAIN THRESHOLD: Expert - Both Angel and Spike share a knack for withstanding pain. They certainly have a knack for dishing it out.

RITUAL MAGIC: Competent - Angel also has some experience in magic, able to perform spells, exorcisms, and glamours, although he prefers to rely on others' expertise if the option was available rather than doing them himself.

STEALTH: Expert - "I lurk." "You made him do that thing where he's gone!" Angel has a habit of being mysteriously not there when people go to look for him, and then appearing unannounced without anybody knowing he was there. A shadow among shadows, Angel is seen only when he wishes to be.

TORTURE: Expert - Angelus, the Scourge of Europe, was the Mozart of torture. Not to say there aren't other great artists of torture out there, but when listing the best, no list is complete without Angelus's name on it. He was gifted in ways beings 10 times his age simply couldn't duplicate, causing more pain, more terror, and more flat out breaking of people (see Drusilla) then virtually anyone before him. The Master called Angelus the most vicious creature he ever met, and that was absolute truth. Angel carries the memories of all of Angelus' finest works, and while the demon Angelus has been evicted...his perfect memory can duplicate most of what Angelus did, though he lacks the spark of creativity and cruelty that made Angelus one of the greatest grandmasters of all time at the art.

TRAINER: Novice - Angel has been training people to fight, human and superhuman alike nearly all summer long. Angel has discovered that it's one thing to train yourself. It's quite another to train another person. Still, he's gotten more then a few mistakes out of the way and learned a few things about what worked and what does not when it comes to training other people, and his training methods have been revised to reflect that.

WILLPOWER: Expert - Angel has willpower, which for him manifests in a variety of ways. It's not just resistance to compulsion with him. That's only the tip of the iceberg. It also manifests as discipline. Whether it's resisting the fear of holy items his breed of vampire should have, accepting death to save someone else, resisting the urge to feed on very yummy blood, and even giving up every drop of happiness he might experience for the greater good, he does what needs to be done.

ABILITIES

FEEDING: Enhanced-level Power - Buffyverse vampires can take the power of other beings through feeding on them. In general, this can be thought of as an 'adrenaline rush' that provides a 25 percent boost to their standard vampiric physique (Strength, speed, toughness, regeneration speed, and so on). This is not enough to take them out of 'Enhanced' level for any of those things, but it is enough to make them superior to most anything else with enhanced status. However, the true scope of this benefit is 25 percent boost or the level of the fed upon being, whichever is higher. So if Angel feeds on a being with Supreme Strength (like Marcus Hamilton), he will temporarily gain that Supreme Strength himself. Such benefits last 'as long as the plot demands', but usually hovers around an hour. Not all beings can be fed upon in this manner, but Slayers, Champions of the Powers(like Drogyn), and Liaisons to Demon Lords (such as Wolfram and Hart) provide the boost. In addition, any being from another series that powers up something else by having their blood fed upon (such as TVD vampires or Supreme demons) also provide the boost.

IMMORTALITY: Basic-level Power - Angel is immortal, like any other vampire. He can be killed but he will never die normally.

PSYCHIC ABILITIES: Basic-level Power - Angel also possessed some cognitive abilities; he had a photographic memory and displayed a psychic connection to those he had sired on at least one occasion.

REGENERATION: Enhanced-level Power - Barring certain poisons or items tailored to be especially hurtful to vampires, Angel can and will heal from just about any injury. Should a limb be cut off, he can either reattach it, or regrow it - although the latter might require days to do so.

VAMPIRE PHYSIQUE: Enhanced-level Power - Providing he has regular access to blood, Angel has vastly increased speed, strength, agility, stamina... traits all held in common with other vampires of similar type.

Strength - enough to bend metal bars, knock down doors, and toss humans about; ability to jump 10+ feet in the air. On occasion, he could jump almost 100 feet in the air.

Speed/Reflexes - enough to move faster than the eye can see. He is able to run at such speeds that he appears to teleport several meters.

Stamina - enough to fight for hours without requiring rest, withstand prolonged exposure to sunlight and holy items to no ill effect. He also possesses a high pain tolerance, able to withstand prolonged periods of torture without succumbing

Durability - Angel is flesh and blood, but he is still able to take a considerable beating. This is partially due to his incredible tolerance for pain, and healing factor as well as having a bit of a thick skin.

VAMPIRE SENSES: Enhanced-level Power - Like other vampires of his kind, all of Angel's senses are far enhanced well beyond human norms or even normal vampires. He is able to see perfectly well in the dark, has the hearing of a wolf as well as preternaturally keen sense of smell - especially when it comes to blood, and different types of blood. His powers of perception were so great that, if concentrating enough, he is capable of perceiving certain minuscule details that most beings would easily overlook.

ADVANTAGES

CALADBOLG - Caladbolg (meaning "hard cleft" or "hard blade"), is an enchanted two-handed sword made by the fae of the Seelie Court. Forged from magical ore from the depths of Faërie, it all but hums with magical power, so much so that when swung it leaves the after-image like the arc of a rainbow. Unbreakable and keen enough to slice through solid stone, it was said to make the wielder powerful enough to defeat an entire army.

In practical terms, it is a supernatural-level weapon, however it cannot be wielded except by the will of the Seelie Queen, Lady Gloriana, who is its keeper. It is traditionally offered up for the use of a Champion, who may only wield it when the need is great, and only then in defense of innocent lives or defense of the Seelie Court. Angel has somewhat more discretion in his use of the blade, as he was a pre-existing Champion in his own right, but even he must be acting in the direct interest of the Powers for additional usage. Typically, this translates into getting 'direct orders' through one of Cordelia's Visions. (If the Champion Signature ability is active, the sword is operating at full power.) Further discretion is granted him to use the sword as Enhanced level weapon for personal use. When this happens, the sword does not leave its fabled rainbow arc, but it is still unbreakable.

The blade's exact form has evolved over the centuries, though it seems more that it has mystically evolved with the times, rather than being actively reforged. What remains constant about it is that it contains no iron nor steel, that the metal carries a faint rainbow sheen, and that it is always a two-handed weapon with a hearty heft to it.

Since Angel lives in a world where you can't carry weapons everywhere, Caladbolg now conceals itself for him at the basic level. Thus, he always has it on hand and available, even in situations where weapons would not normally be carried.

CAR - Angel has a car that he has had for years, a 1967 Chevrolet Impala.

CHAMPION - Angel is a piece in play for The Powers That Be and Wolfram and Hart, being listed in several prophecies in Apocalyptic-end-of-the-world type stuff. He has been referred to as being a major player in the part of it, but it is unknown if it will be for good or for evil.

HYPERION - Angel Investigations, the organization which is run by Angel, came across a base of operations in an abandoned hotel that has seen much in the way of supernatural activities known as the Hotel Hyperion. The Hyperion also features a powerful magical ward. This creates three effects. First, the 'Fairy Circle' effect. Hostile beings (mortal or otherwise) looking for Hyperion or anyone in it tend to walk (or drive) in circles around the building till they give up and leave. This effect can only be overcome by Expert Willpower or Supernatural Mental Defense. And even Expert Willpower is slowed down, as it takes them an hour to walk what they'd normally get through in minutes. Second, Scrying and Divination attempts on the Hyperion or anyone within automatically fail unless they are Supernatural in power level, and even scrying of such power tends to be blurry and indistinct, as it's being opposed by an equal force. In addition, all hostile magic and other supernatural powers (telekinesis, pyrokinesis, mind control etc) of basic or enhanced level is completely negated, and supernatural level spells and powers are blunted, as if opposed by an equal force. This applies equally to spells cast from outside the building at anyone within, and spells cast inside the building itself. Moreover, anyone entering the building under the effects of such spells or powers have them negated (or blunted) while they remain in the building.

LIBRARY - Angel Investigations has a library of rare texts and occult tomes which are used to investigate the supernatural, at his disposal.

SEELIE BLESSING - During the day, that is, whenever the sun's up, the blessing of Gloriana does the following for Angel: It protects him from the sun's rays, warms his skin to the halfway point between the default room temperature most vampires are and the 98.6 humans are, and renders him able to sire children in the human way. Note he's still sterile at night.

SEELIE GOODWILL - Due to the fact his mission as a Champion has caused him to do numerous good deeds for the Seelie Court of Faerie, and has occasionally served their will directly as a Champion, Gloriana and the Seelie Fae in general are very well disposed towards Angel. In short, most Seelie Fae will help if they can, and if he's in the Seelie side of the Fae realm for some reason, both he and anyone under his protection can expect to pass through unmolested. If he asks for anything of them, the default answer is yes, and in most cases they won't even 'charge' him a return favor, knowing the debt is likely to get paid later when his mission takes him their way again. Moreover, he and those under his protection can enter Gloriana's court and stay under her protection and hospitality should he find himself in the land of Faerie to begin with. In addition, even the Unseelie Fae know who he is, and he at least has the respect due an honorable warrior playing for the other team. What that means to each individual Unseelie, or even Mab herself, is up for debate.

SOUL - Angel has a soul, unlike other vampires, which gives him the capability to have remorse and emotions over his actions, and make him a force of good. He has higher human emotions, and can be affected by magics that require one having a soul.

WEAPONS - Angel has a stash of archaic weaponry which he uses on his fight against evil.

WEAKNESSES

ANGELUS - Angelus, the vampire spirit inside Angel, was evicted during the soul sealer plot, and has since become a demon of greater power than he had before. While Angelus can now possess living host bodies, not only corpses afflicted with vampirism, the one he wants most is his original body back. He will also put his legendary cruelty and artistry of torture to good use trying to get that body back.

DAYTIME - Like most vampires, Angel's kind is weakened during daytime. In the case of Angel's sort of vampire, their senses are weakened to essentially human levels during the day, and they tend to be sensitive to direct sunlight, which hurts their eyes and makes them uncomfortable, so they tend to wear heavy clothing and sunglasses during the day. However, Angel is spared this difficulty thanks to the boons of the fae.

ENEMIES - Angel is the infamous vampire with a soul, who has killed countless vampires and demons on the side of good, making his name somewhat hated and feared among evil. On the other hand he has the reputation of being Angelus, the most notorious and cruel vampire of all time. He has grown to acquire many enemies over time.

FEEDING - Vampires have to feed on blood. This is the only thing that grants them sustenance. While they can eat other foods, they have to drink blood for 'nutritional' value. A vampire can go an eternity without feeding, but the psychological damage from the bloodlust can be catastrophic.

HOLY STUFF - Crosses, Holy Water, and other sacred items harm any vampire of Angel's breed. Angel is burned by such things too, but he lacks the fear of them most vampires have, and to him, they're just another weapon. Moreover, his enhanced state, pain resistance, and the eviction of Angelus makes him exceptionally resistant to such things...in general, it takes twice as much to have the normal effect.

SEELIE GOODWILL - If a Seelie Fae finds themselves in over their head in the mortal world, Angel is one of the first beings they come running to for shelter and assistance, or hospitality as the case may be. They may also ask him favors, but due to his status as a Champion, they know better than to ask things he'd find morally objectionable. If Gloriana is in the mortal world for some reason, she's highly likely to choose to stay as his guest for hospitality and such. Lastly, Unseelie Fae recognize him as an honorable warrior that mostly helps the other team. Whether that means respect or singling him out for every trick they can think of is up to that particular Unseelie.

STAKES - Angel has the vampiric drawback of being able to be ashed by a wooden stake through the heart.

THRESHOLD - Like all vampires, Angel cannot cross the entrance threshold of the domicile of a living human being without first being invited in. After an invitation is given, the restriction no longer holds over that home.
