As one of the Fair Folk, Nythris -should- be powerful and revered. While many do covet him, the young fae isn't exactly as powerful as his fellows. He is one of the most attractive of the Fae, but he lacks control over his domain; he doesn't believe it should be controlled. Its this lack of true power that often leads to him getting into all sorts of trouble, from being enslaved to being asked for favors he himself cannot give. Still Nythris takes his failings with a relaxed air, going through life with a playful and charming demeanor.

Personality

Nythris is a laid back, easy going and sometimes playful sort. He enjoys teasing and playing pranks and some might say he takes nothing seriously. However his flighty nature is often used as a cover for his insecurities. He knows he is weaker than most of his people, yet he refuses to let it bother him. Yes he has bad luck, but he keeps exploring the lands refusing to back down. He is a determined and cheerful sort and under all that swagger is someone who simply wishes to be seen as he is and accepted for that.

Background

The winds are one of the more unpredictable elements that the Fair Folk of Arcadia govern. From those winds a new Fae was brought into the world. Nythris is still quite young for one of his kind and from an early age he showed a playful and inquisitive nature that had everyone convinced he would suffer wanderlust once he came of age. He was often teased by the other Fair Folk, which Nythris interpreted as them seeing him as weaker, due to his unwillingness to control the wind fully. Nythris saw the wind as something that should never be caged and so he rode the winds rather than bound them. By the time he came of age, he was one of the most attractive Fae ever seen. He decided to visit other places and explore the realms of the younger races. His desire to travel and see the world though can only lead to mischief and potentially disaster; still, despite his tendency to cause trouble, Nythris is undeterred. Now is his chance to explore!

SKILLS

CHARM - Expert: He doesn't always mean to charm others but there is a sort of allure to him that draws people in. And when he chooses to actively use his charms he is a force to be reckoned with.

DAGGER FIGHTING - Novice: He has basic knowledge of how to defend himself with the dagger he carries.

DANCING - Expert: He is exceptionally graceful and talented as a dancer, even others of the Fair Folk find his dances hypnotic.

FLUTE - Competent: He started learning this human made instrument early in life when one was gifted to him. He finds the music of this instrument soothing and can make some rather lovely melodies with it.

FOLKLORE - Competent: As one of the Fair Folk he is fairly well versed in legends and folklore both human and fae.

LOCKPICKING - Novice: Whether getting out of places he gets trapped in or getting into places he shouldn't be he knows a little about how to manipulate locks.

SINGING - Expert: He has a light, airy, and sometimes haunting voice that sounds quite lovely when he chooses to sing. It's a natural talent of his and one that he has honed.

STEALTH - Novice: It's hard to sneak when your wings shimmer in the light, and it's not like he can turn off the shimmering. He is terrible at passing unseen but he can at least move quietly on occasion.

POWERS

FLIGHT - Supreme: Being born with wings has advantages, Nythris is as at home in the air as he is on the ground. Impressive to behold his wings also enable him to fly.

ILLUSION - Enhanced: Being a bit of a trickster this is one of Nythris's favorite schools of magic. From small tricks and distractions to larger things like lulling an enemy into thinking he is a friend he is quite capable. He can even use illusions to pass as a human though that takes great focus and eventually wears off.

SUMMONING - Basic: This is an area Nythris needs work on. He often tries to summon spirits or elementals to aid him, but he is just as likely to make a mistake and summon something far less useful and benevolent.

WIND CONTROL - Basic: Nythris is a being whose very spirit is one with the winds. He should in theory have far more power and control over it than he does. The potential is there for supreme control, but Nythris feels uneasy commanding the element and thus only uses it for more basic things.

ADVANTAGES

WEAKNESSES

ALLURE He is considered good looking even by Fae standards, so it stands to reason that his appearance would have a cost. Nythris has an effect on the weak minded or more lust driven beings, he tempts them with his very presence and its something he cannot turn off...

COLD IRON This metal is one of the few things that will make Nythris ill and injure him. A cold iron blade is the only metal that can leave a scar on his body.

FEEBLE Nythris just doesn't have the physical or magical power some of his kind do. Most of the Fair Folk see him as pretty but useless while the younger races admire him but soon come to realize his weaknesses and how to exploit them.
