Bobby Drake, known as Iceman, has recently become a full member of the X-men, using his powers of ice creation and manipulation to fight crime alongside a team. While he is considered an Omega level mutant, he is still learning the full breadth of his powers.
Personality
Bobby is devastatingly honest, up front with his emotions and feelings, as well as his thoughts on any subject. He does tend to make light hearted comments in the face of danger. Finally, he is brave against external dangers and inwardly, freely admitting his mistakes.
Background
Robert "Bobby" Louis Drake was born in Floral Park, Long Island, New York. Bobby is Jewish on his mother's side and Irish Catholic on his father's. Bobby first discovered his mutant abilities at a young age when he found himself unable to stop feeling cold and shivering, even in the heat of summer.
Bobby was recruited into the X-Men by Scott Summers and enrolled in Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. He had training and tutoring from Professor X and other members of the X-Men before tensions caused him to go off on his own.
SKILLS
ACCOUNTING - Competent: Bobby is studying accounting and has shown a natural aptitude for numbers.
FIGHTING - Competent: He has trained in hand to hand combat alongside some very skilled teachers.
ICE SKATING - Competent
SCULPTING - Novice: He has begun to refine his ice powers to produce more pleasing sculptures.
SPANISH - Competent
POWERS
CRYOKINESIS - Enhanced: Iceman can use his mutant ability to freeze any local air moisture into super-hard ice. This ice can be formed into any object of his choosing: the only limitations are his own imagination, his skill as a sculptor, the amount of available moisture, and the ambient air temperature which determines how long his ice sculpture will stay icy. His abilities also include cryoprojection, or the ability to project ice. This can take the form of everything from blasts of ice from any part of his body to creating his signature ice slides, which allow him to travel swiftly via projecting ice beneath him.
Like that of any trained athlete, Iceman's ability to perform is directly related to his daily physical health and current mental state. Under normal conditions, he can usually form ice continually for a period of about 5 hours before becoming mentally exhausted.
THERMOKINESIS - Enhanced: Iceman is able to lower his external and internal body temperature without harm to himself, thereby radiating intense cold from his body. Iceman is able to reach -105 degrees Fahrenheit within a few seconds, and is immune to sub-zero temperatures around him.
ADVANTAGES
X-MEN Iceman is a member of the X-Men and can rely upon them for support when needed. This also means that when they need him, he is ready to respond.
WEAKNESSES
MOISTURE His powers are also dependent on the level of moisture that is in his current vicinity. While this means he's generally able to use his powers anywhere, special locations or conditions can limit or prevent their use.
SELF DOUBT Bobby sometimes holds back with his powers, seeming to lack creativity and imagination to use his powers to their full potential. He has seen powerful mutants lose control and cause damage and death, so he often self constrains himself. He has a fear of losing control over his powers, having been told by Professor X of his future potential.
STAMINA Iceman's mutant abilities are dependent on his physical condition. If he is extremely tired or has been mentally taxed his powers begin to become dysfunctional. Iceman is able to use his powers constantly for up to 3 hours before he taxes his powers to their limit and needs to rest. While in his human form Iceman still needs to eat, breathe, and sleep like normal human beings.
